I was advised by the stats here at Phone Scoop and other early reviews that the LG8700 had a voice memo. You can see that listed here on this site.

I have my 8700 in hand and unless I'm a total idiot (very possibe) I can't find that feature!

Be advised! If you wanted voice memo on your LG8700....forget it.

Or please show me how to access it.

Yup!

I'm an idiot!

So what else is new?

Found the voice memo.....under a catagory named "My Sounds".

Disregard.

I actually just got the Krazr yesterday but am having some issues with it and am thinking about getting the 8700. What are the text capabilities like? Does it have T9 or the I-tap? Also with the Krazr it seems like the programming is a little slow. After pushing the menu button it seems there is a delay until it actually comes up. Are you having this problem with your 8700? Is the vertical screen creating any difficulties?

At this point in my assessment this phone lacks nothing you mentioned. No delay. If by "vertical screen" you mean the outside LCD this can be programed to show either vertically or horizontally.

The phone is beautiful to look at! Basically I think that this is the reason for the phone to exist at all.

This hand set was built by LG for the mass market of users (like myself) who's primary concern is appearance. Not for techeys.

This style is right out of "24" or "Bond". That was LG's intent in bringing this to market. And they killed the fingerprints of the 8600 at the same time.

(although as a retired cop I would not bet the farm that your fingerprints cannot be found if need be)

Also the outside glass is not slightly recessed...

I'm definitely in it for the looks as well rather than all of the capabilities. My major concern is texting though. Are the buttons easy to use? On the Krazr its very easy to press the wrong button. I hate it!

The buttons are easiley defined by a raised "grid" and you should have no problem in rapid fire texting after a bit off use.

"I'm not a bluetooth person as I would not be caught dead (or alive) wearing one of those ear piece things."

and what is wrong with a BT headset? Safer, and more convenient than a wired headset.

Yes I'm sure it is but for me it's just a personal thing about how one looks to walk around with one of those things in their ear.

I can't get past the toupee thing.
