How is the battery life on the 8700. I just got the razr maxx and the only reason i chose it was the longer battery life. I like the 8700 better but need to know. i have 15 days to return the maxx.

the sales rep at the verizon store didn't know much about battery life but said standby may be up to 3 days. That is not enough as far as i am concerned... any thoughts you can add?? on which way i should go?

Get the LG, it's prettier.
I've had mine, 8700, for less than a week. I can't say as I have any issues with a short battery life, but most of what I've been doing is playing with the camera. I'm only on the second charge since I got it but the first charge went sunday, monday and tuesday before needing charging. That included about 2 hours of calls and some pics & video taking as well as sending out a few pics. Is that good? I'm coming from a phone with no camera that I could go about every five days to a week & 2 - 3 hours of talk time between charges.

I've had mine a little over a week. I am only getting 1.5 to 2 days on a charge. And that's with few calls. I've had to charge 4 times since 4/23. Not good when my last phone a VX4400, got about a week. Having to charge every night or two doesn't seem right. I'm trying to decide if I should keep it or trade for something else. But I like the phone.

Please look at my review of the phone. I like you went out and got the Maxx, however I ended up returning it for the 8700 and could not be happier. Motorola used to be my number one pick but I have to say that LG has made me a believer that they have really solid quality and reception. The only thing that you will notice right off the bat is that ringtones at max volume sound a bit distorted but that is my only big drawback. The 8700 has alot of great features over the Maxx one of wich is much, much, much better reception. I hope that my review and this helps you make up your mind. I am not normally an LG "fanboy" but after my experience with the Maxx I believe that I now am one. If you have any other questions that I can help you out...

Sorry, but I fail to see what the problem is with charging your phone every couple of days or even every day. I would agree there was a problem if the phone didn't last a full day even with a ton of calls but what is wrong with charging it at night?

I do alot of traveling. Sometimes its just not possible to charge especially when driving. With my previous phones i could get up to 5 days standby (razr) and longer with others. Also, the more you have to charge the shorter the battery will last in the long term.

I agree, and I think needing to charge every night is absurd. Battery technology keeps getting better, battery life should go up. I know.... I know.... Batteries are smaller, phones do more.... but every night charging is not acceptable.

My thoughts....

I'm getting 1.5 to 2 days. But I have another thread I'm trying to get people to say what they are getting. No replies though....

I'm on my initial charge now. It is in it's 3rd day. I've only made 15-20 calls. It's 1 bar down from being full Sometimes once they start going they go fast so I'm going to let it go all the way down just to see how long I get.
