I read a review on the following web site that states that the VX8700 has Bluetooth version 1.2 on it. Almost all AT&T phones have version 2.0 on them. Verizon only has a couple of PDA phones with 2.0. The rest are 1.1 and 1.2, which is disappointing. I have a 2.0 headset and would like to experience the best performance of Bluetooth available by pairing the headset with a phone with 2.0 as well. I have noticed, though, that the Bluetooth reception is the best I've experienced with the VX8700, since my old phone only had version 1.1.

It is version 1.2,
Sorry wasn't really paying attention. the following are the supported bluetooth profiles.
I have used headsets, Very clear and have transfered picures no problem, but i don't think you can do your phonebook to anything other than a pc. when you check out the bluetooth chart on vxw.com it says phonebook will work with mobile phone tools...so not sure if it will go any other source??? Stop at a store and ask if you can take it out and try it...then let us know🙂

Bluetooth® profiles supported*: Headset, Advanced Audio Distribution (Stereo), Hands–free, Serial Port, Dial–Up Networking, Basic Print, Basic Imaging, Object Push for vCard & vCal, Phonebook Access & File Transfer

from what i can tell, verizon has taken away the ability for data transfer through blue tooth on its phones. this just means that you need to individually program in each name to the corresponding number. kind of a hassle but it appears that the everything else will work fine. i'll keep you updated ...

some profiles are disabled, it is different for every phone, the 8700 has a lot of stuff open on it, you just can not do ringtones and phonebook will probably be pc only.
