Can anyone tell me if the ringer is loud enough on the 8700? As loud as the Motorola MAXX? I got the Samsung 740 on my new every two and the ringer is too low for me
Thanks

Not very loud & the vibrate is also weak. Hard to hear outdoors.

Depends on the sound you choose. The ringers on the phone (at least the ones I tried) are not all that loud. But then I sent myself some ringtones (songs) and some are loud enough.

How did you send songs? When I tried it, they didn't show up?

I went to
http://www.myxertones.com. » Select what you like. Send them to your phone. They come in as a picture. But once you receive the song you can save it as a ringtone. I think the "ringtone" option is under options, but I don't recall. If you search this forum, you will find the exact instructions. Even I (I am not a techie) could do it, no sweat.

I agree with most of you! The ringers could definitely be louder. I liked the VX 8100 and the 8300 which I had. For the fact that the stereo speakers were on top of the phone, so no matter if it was a Verizon ringer or a downloaded song, it rang pretty loud. I wish they would make more phones like that again! Does anyone feel the same way? If so, please respond. The new craze are the thin phones that you can hardly hear at all. Come on Verizon, bring back the phones with stereo speakers on top. Those were the loudest, and the battery life was quite good also! Anyone agree or would like to respond? ๐Ÿคจ

The Vx 8300 has not benn discontinued. Sorry if you thought I meant that. I just said that I have had the 8100 and the 8300. And I like the idea of the stereo speakers on top of the phone. You could hear it pretty well, even if it's in a purse. So the 8300 is still out there. Hope that clarified what I meant. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have the phone and I added a ringer that I sent to myself from my wife's RAZR called "Rings".
Old fashioned copper bell ringer but it can be heard anywhere.
I attached it to a pix message and sent it from her to me and it works great.

I can send it to anyone for $500.00 US dollars....lol (ok that was not a real offer but sometimes supply and demand..etc.)
