VZW XV6800 Feedback and Q&A
I got the 8GB microSD card, but only see 4GB. It's likely a 32-bit issue, but will look into this further.
The "Get Applications" send you to a page that can't be displayed (http://mobile.handango.com/vzw-utst). Going to http://mobile.handango.com (redirected to http://mhgo.com/InHand.jsp?siteId=36😎 and downloading the Handango software failed to install the first time because of "invalid" digital signature. I repeated the same steps and this time got a prompt to install the software from an unrecognized publisher. The initial Handango interface looks nice; I'll post more on the usefulness of the software later. At least the speed of the download over EVDO was good. I assume it to be Rev.0?...

While I like the ergonomics and aesthetics of this phone, the Samsung i760 seems to be a better value since it comes with an extended battery and (i believe) microsoft voice command. Purchasing these two items adds another $100 to the price of the xv6800.
Also, the "case" included with the xv6800 is just a pouch. You'll need to purchase a case with a belt clip.
Not to go negative on the xv6800. So far I really lik...

Also- I installed Telenav, and the internal GPS seems to be crippled- is this true?

I returned my Sammy i760 after two weeks. Multiple lockups, VERY slow when multiple apps were running, constantly dropped from EVDO to 1X when web surfing, kept hanging up on calls (my thumb sat right on that dang button!).
It had VERY good Bluetooth performance, and so far, so does my XV6800.
Voice dialing was great on the Samsung, but I have not even had time to try it on the 6800.
One thing I really liked on the Samsung was the Today screen item where I could cycle through missed calls, unread emails, voice mails, etc.
So far, no lockups with the XV6800, and it is WAY FASTER with many apps open than the i7...

Yes, I was also bummed that the XV6800 didn't come with voice command, but since I had purchased it a while back (v1.5) and the $10 upgrade to version 1.6, it wasn't a huge deal to load it in. I certainly wasn't going to customize 200 dialing entries and every other command for the phone with the "voice application" that came with the XV6800. The i760 does include voice command, but it seemed to "react" (reply) more slowly than the XV6800 does, probably due to a slower CPU.
The slide-out keyboard on the XV-6800 pops out to your LEFT, which means right-handers can easily push it open with their thumbs. No...

I upgraded my Samsung i730 to a Palm700W then to a Samsung i760. I enjoyed the Samsung i760 however I had problems with the delay from Portrait to landscape and the phone locking up often. I took the i760 back and waited for the release of the XV6800. I purchased the xv6800 online and it came last Friday. I really like the sleek look. I liked the Voice Command on the i760, the XV6800 only has voice speed dial where you have to record your voice for each phone listing you want to speed dial. I am a little confused on the the Windows mobile version 6.0 on on the XV6800 versus the version on the i760. For instance, I tried to do a conference call and there was not an option in the menu to conference. The Help option a...

I'd love to add it, but not until the bugs are fixed.

Cons:
1) Battery life-The phone comes with a 1500 MaH battery. What a joke. The battery becomes easily depleted within a few phone calls or using the browser. The battery also becomes quite warm.
2) The phone has locked up and programs have stopped working-The phone has locked up out of the blue. The voice recognition also stopped working, requiring a reboot.
3) Battery Upgrade-As this is a multiple function device, I choose to upgrade from the 1500MaH battery to the 2100Mah battery.
Granted, the battery las...
