XV6800 and Voice Command

CellMe

I loaded voice command 1.6 on my XV6800. It works fabulously with the button (button5) on the phone, but only mostly works with either of my 2 motorola bluetooth headsets.

The issue on the bluetooth is that it'll accepted the command "call john doe at work" but it "misses" me saying "correct" or "yes" after it repeats the command back. Again, if I use the button on the side, it works great. On occasion, the BT headset will work normally, but mostly not.

Here's what I did to install:

1) installed the cab
2) updated my button assignment in Start/Settings/Buttons to button 5 (by default it gets assigned to the messaging button)
3) moved the sddaemon out of the "my deviceWindowsStart up" folder and rebooted

Any ideas? Again, bu...

So what is the sddaemon file? When you moved the sddaemon file, which folder did you place the file? I did this and it did not work for me. I downloaded the the Voice Command 1.6 from handdango (spen 39.99) and it is simply not working for me. I have the verizon XV6800. I also went to the PPCGeeks website. I must admit, it was a little hard to follow. Can you break it down for me. I just want to use the Voice Command on my phone versus the Voice Speed Dialer. I dont know why HTC didnt make this a little more simple for us. I have 400 contact entries and I am not about to record each phone in the speed dialer.

Also, do you know how use the conference call or 3 way on this. There use to be a conference option on the menu button...

I believe the sddaemon file to be part of the voice dialer which ships with the phone. I just cut the file, and pasted it a couple levels up so it wasn't in the start up group. Then I powered off the phone and rebooted.

The only remaining issue was that the confirmation (yes/correct) still wasn't working, but I just went in to the start, settings, voice command , highlighted phone on the left then took options on the right to turn off the verification check boxes.

For the price the 6800 should come with it. My price on the i760 was about $80 cheaper and it came with it.

I haven't used the conferencing function, so I'll leave that for someone else.

BTW, I am about a week into the 6800 and think it's generally a great PDA/phone....

Hi Cellme,

Thanks for responding back to me. My VC does not work at all. The sddaemon file was removed from the start up file. Im not really sure what the problem is at this point. I assigned it to the #five button as well as other buttons and it will not launch. Not sure what is causing it not to launch. I am able to see VC in the settings and change/modify settings. However, nothing seems to be working. Also I disabled the Voice Dialer settings. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... Mine just worked... Have you loaded any other 3rd party applications? Hard Booted? Tried removing and re-installing? Maybe just moving just the cab file over and re-installing after removing?
