Turn off sound effects on music player?
So I tried out the music EQ (the phone calls them "sound effects") options on the chocolate, but they all sound pretty awful. Unfortunately, I can't seem to turn the EQ off, only to switch between different "sound effects". Anyone know where to look to deactivate this mode?
Loading music from micro SD
I loading some MP3's on the micro SD, but when i try and access them from the phone is says " no music found". I verified that the songs are on the card already. Is there something i have to do to make this work? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Music player / phone interaction
Thanks for the review, but I'm really surprised you didn't address how the music player and phone interact, especially since you talk about how the music player works in the background.
If you are playing music and a call comes in, what happens? Does the music automatically pause and then resume when the call is over? What about for outgoing calls?
Thanks,
David

scroll wheel
he forgot to mention its not a cool ipod like scroll wheel (insert technical name here) its a plastic wheel from a lego's set you will be spinning around...
minus that AND the keyboard, its a nifty music phone.

OLD CHOCOLATE VS. NEW CHOCOLATE
One of my family share lines is eligible for a new phone and I was debating between these two phones. I currently have the enV but it's getting a lot of scratches on the front screen, to the point where some stuff is difficult to see. I wanna give it a lil rest b/c I want to keep it for the 2 years. I understand that the chocolates will be prone to the same thing but at least the phone I love will be somewhat protected. Based on the people that OWN either one of these phones or both, please tell me which one to get. Thanks!! Mind you I know the enV is great that's why I wanna preserve it (in a way). I only have til saturday to figure this thing out!!!
video file errors
So far this phone seems to be pretty picky about video mp4/3g2 files. So far I've found that even with the 320x240 display there is no way it will play videos with this resolution, it slows to about .5-1 fps. Then, any videos in mp4 format and 176x144 resolution are not expanded to the full frame, but with black boarders. However, using the same encoding program and nearly identical settings, the same in 3g2/3gp @ 176x144 WILL zoom to 320x240, BUT the sound is crap. Truely strange. All the encoding is done offline with various progs, but this is the result. Anyone have any success with encoding videos the play full frame and with good sound? What app and settings did you use?

Dumb question but...
What does feedback vibration mean? Are the buttons next to the wheel still a touch screen?
I am pretty set on investing in a Chocolate, but I can't decide which version to get.

Give it a minute
I tried it out in the store today. It's a pretty cool phone. I personally was not a fan of the original Chocolate, and when I heard about all of the problems I was turned off even more. There's something different about this one, so much in fact, I'm actually considering getting one. Its between this and the enV (Verizon offers and AWESOME package deal - Chocolate, 4GB microSD, Stereo Bluetooth headset, music kit - $250. Not bad)

RAZR2 OR LG VX-8550
I am trying to negotiate a new contract with Verizon. I am not going to hotfix or modify either phone and not really interested in the mp3 compatability of the Chocolate.
Should I go with the RAZR2 or the Chocolate 8550 and why?

Before you buy, check this out...
Anyone else having problems with their nav wheel? It seems as if it works fine sometimes but then most of the time it isn't responsive and I've tried all sensitivity levels.
Also, anyone else's keypad unevenly lit? It looks like my l, 4, 7, * keys are burnt out. Let me know if any of you are having these issues or if it is just my phone. Thanks

You guys are all ridiculous
i am always the one wanting the latest and greatest phone. so whenever cool one's come out and usually have to go and just pay the retail price.
the chocolate was a major deal.
just like the razr when it came out for verizon.
the chocolate was something that got me really excited when it first came out. overall it was a good phone, yeah it had a couple glitches. but what can you expect. its made the sole purpose of making and recieving calls, so when you add all these features your bound to have glitches.
the chocolate was overall good, but the battery was terrible. the razr did as well.
i'm going out and getting the new 8550 chocolate today. i've played with it a bunch and they've upgraded it quite a bit. the battery life...
