no, not free. it costs an out of network text message. its "fake aim" tho. You dont get your full buddy list unfortunately. I had the sidekick and it had the real thing. this is a modified one which is kinda sad

Yeah, that's what I thought. That's why i've always just relied on texting. I also meant free with the unlimited messaging to anyone plan.
