LG Voyager VX-10000

I am going to be a new VZW customer and i am coming from tmobile which i think is so awsome. My question is I am going to get the voyager, i currently have the dash through tmobile, I pay $20 for internet and there is no extra charge for using my phone as a modem i think vzw calls it tethering. I asked the agents at the VZW store if the voyager could be used as a modem and they said yes and mentioned no extra charges. I keep reading forums where people are saying you have to pay $59 or $49 and then some are saying if you get the premium plan you don't have to pay extra.
