Problem with voyager? cracked screen?
So I have had the voyager since its release and I know how to use the phone as far as touching the screen and the pressure used on the screen. I even have a screen protector and invisible shield on it. So, a couple days ago I was using the touch screen and the screen just all of a sudden broke I believe. There are a bunch of streak marks with with a different colors on the screen. The screen still functions as a touch screen but cannot see half the screen. I took it into Verizon and they said "the screen is cracked" and they can't do anything if there is physical damage. So I called LG and might have the phone sent in for it to be replaced under warranty. Is this a case that can be covered by Verizon by just replacing the phone? Can it be re...

Go to a local vzw store and ask if they can do whats called a fru fee, its a refurb of the same model for a $50 replacement cost. I have had my phone swapped out beofre (not a voyager ) for a cracked lcd screen 2 times and they always tell me for a $50 fru fee. This is not INS. If they say no ask to talk to a technician. hope this helps . good luck

Thank you for the help. I will try that but knowing that this phone just came out late November, I don't know if there will be any refurbished models for them to give to me. Any other options I may have or any ideas of talking my way into getting a replacement?

they might not have the refurb in the store due to it just recently being released- correct, but they might be able to mail one to you. other wise going back to LG.

That screen did not break all on it's own. I bet if it all of a sudden cracked it had been exposed to some type of prolonged pressure. The story that you took it out and it cracked with normal use sounds like complete BS.

The screen will not crack without abnormal pressure, damage, a drop or some other factor. It's a standard LCD screen that is touch sensitive, but the amount of pressure needed to activate touch functions is not anywhere close to the amount of pressure or impact that would cause it to break. If you really broke it just touching it, you might consider a different phone. If LG will fix it on warranty, I would go that route; otherwise, see about a refurb replacement or the available insurance policy. I know some people don't believe in those, but it's $5/mo for insurance vs +- $500 for a non-warranty replacement. I don't buy them on anything else, but considering the punitive replacement cost policies from most phone vendors, the insurance polic...

Well the truth is the phone was in my pocket, and when I took it out the screen seemed like it had cracked. Whether or not something in my pocket was forced upon the screen, I don't know. Now to be more descriptive, its not the front screen that is cracked but within the screen on the actual menu screen is cracked. I called insurance, but phone is on back order. But in the meantime im trying to think of an alternative to getting another voyager.
