I got mine from ebay. Brand new and cheaper than the verizon store or online, also no tax which on a phone marked at 479 will be pricey.

Not sure why someone would pay ~500 on ebay for a phone that is available for $299 (or less with company discounts) on a contract. In any case, visit a Verizon company store and ask them what delivery will be if you order one. Bet it's a couple of days; no more. They'll give you a tracking number.

Obviously you work for verizon and don't understand two simple things. One, maybe she already has a contract with vzw. Your 300 price is only good on NEW lines. Two, its not 500 on ebay, theyve been selling for anywhere from 410 to 450. I bought mine for 450 plus 8 dollars shipping and handling. 458 is a lot better than the 530 I would have spent at the vzw store. That's not to even mention the activation cost or the cost for the firmware upgrade, both of which I can do free through customer service.

No, I don't work for Verizon. I had a contract with Verizon and ended up paying about about $161 with applicable discounts I didn't even know I was eligible for. I'd recommend working through customer service and seeing what you can get. Be persistant, you might be surprised. Your mileage may vary. Don't accuse others of lack of understanding when you don't have all the facts.

What facts? You assume everyone has some corporate discount. She never made that claim. What facts do you have exactly other than she wants a phone? Please, inform us how we can get a voyager for 161 you're so brilliant.

I don't know how you can get one for 161, check around. Here's how I did:
$349 with 2 year extension on existing account - $50 rebate - 15% discount* - $100 new every two discount, plus some miscellaneous charges.

* Per verizon, "New and existing Verizon Wireless customers may be eligible to receive great discounts on phones, calling plans, accessories and more with their employer's discount (if one is available). If you're eligible, you'll get great savings on: New phones and calling plans for you or your family from Verizon Wireless. Upgrading your existing phone to one of our latest models. A wide selection of accessories. Existing Verizon Wireless customers can register their phone number and have their employer's monthly discount ap...

Ok, here's the deal. Maybe she is not ready for an upgrade. I sell cell phones for a living, trust me, not everyone is eligable for an upgrade whenever they please. Nor do they want to extend their contract and suffer a 200$ a line penalty should they leave.

Your corporate discount. Why the **** would she be eligable for that? Why make that assumption?

New every two. This is only available if theyve been good on payments for 2 years or six months or whatever vzw does.

I start off with two basic points:
A) you have absolutely no idea what her situation is or what her options are..i assume you dont sell phones
B) you assume she has your options available to her

And another thing, you assume the availability of the phone

I assume nothing. Neither you nor she may be eligible for anything. Too bad, so sad.

Go back and read the thread. All I said was that one should check - persistantly - about what discounts may be available. Your mileage may vary. Check how many times I said that. As far as availability, all indicators I have based on personal experience are that orders placed through a verizon company store are being filled in a couple of days. My wife ordered one a couple of weeks ago and got it in two days. This was confirmed at the time of order by the verizon store. I said, ask the verizon store to confirm shipping. They did. If that is not the case where you live and if your verizon store is not on the A list or something, then, well, Oh Well. What ...

You say that constantly. And I will still say you're lying and haven't addressed any issue by the original poster, nor are you aware on the current state of availability on the phone, nor have you supplied any evidence to back your claims. Good day.

That doesn't even make sense. Perhaps you should reconsider posting at 3:15 in the am.

The original poster asked when one would get a phone if one ordered one and when they would be in the stores. I reported my experience as of two weeks ago and one week ago, which is that ordering through a company store resulted in delivery in 2-3 days. A simple call to a Verizon company store will clarify when one can get one as of today. No company store will tell a person to order it oneline, they will order it for you and confirm delivery dates. Franchise outlets are a different story. So, be sur...

What false info? My wife ordered one at a store about two weeks ago and got it in two days, fedex, no extra shipping charges. A friend ordered it a week ago at a company store and got it in three days, fedex. I said, Go the store and ask them to specify when you will get it. What is false info about that? Sheesh, take a pill.

I went to the store. They were out of stock till the 15th, and this was the day before new years. They also said that online ordering is out of stock. Why you can get phones online, from verizon wireless direct, for 161, and nobody else can... I have no idea.

Do yourself a favor and don't ask the person next to you on a plane what their ticket costs. Your mileage may vary. If the best price you can get is $450 on ebay and you want the phone, then that's the deal. My wife and I purchased plane tickes recently at different times to the same destination on the same flight. One was $400, the other was $1,200. Go figure. But don't call me a liar. My price was $161.

I see...a red herring logical fallacy. Nice attempt but I don't know what your supposed plane tickets have to do with this. Look, it's ok, I get it, you make a claim you can't verify. This is the internet...nothing new to me. 🙂

I didn't make any claims, save what I paid for the phone. I claimed you should call your verizon rep and be persistant about what discounts might be available to you. Your mileage may vary. Sheesh.

Sarcasm is usually best ignored. If he got the phone for $50, great. I got mine for $161 under the circumstances provided. If he wants to provide details on his $50 purchase as I did, so much the better. It may help someone who doesn't otherwise realize they may be entitled to discounts. Otherwise, I think you should take comments in a forum like this at face value. What is your point, other than you had to pay more for the phone than others have? That doesn't mean everyone else should pay as much as you. We should share our experiences with discounts, promotions and other benefits in case someone can take advantage, don't you think? I really don't understand what you're trying to accomplish here.
