Let's Here Some New Reviews from VZW Customers
Ok fellow VZW customers ... VZW has offered this phone for a couple weeks now. Let's hear some more reviews! I'm especially interested in those who travel overseas often. I'm getting tired of my old Samsung A790 Worldphone and I'm considering purchasing this phone. Let's hear some more pros and cons. How's the sound, battery life, camera, speakerphone, Bluetooth, etc? How is the functionality? I'm particularily interested if we finally have a CDMA/GSM phone that recognizes which country you're in for outgoing calls, and adds the proper country code prefix to numbers within your phonebook with the "+" prefix? Etc.

Look at my post about battery life....sux for me

I used it in the UK and it worked well. THe time did not sync right which I am not sure why but the phone worked. Battery seems to be good it is better than my old phone which was a razr. It will last about 2 days with a lot of use. With no use it last much longer. It also last way longer in GSM mode.
The camera is a camera on a phone, not bad but not great.
I still had to add the plus sign but I didn't think that was that big of a deal.
The cost though through Verizon is so expensive to use it overseas though! Just another way for Verizon to get money. But I am looking into an unlock code and buying a sim which would reduce this greatly....but saying that I am not sure it will work.

I just purchased the phone yesterday from VZW and bought their SIM card. I had the SIM activated today but found out that VZW doesn't offer any service in Colombia where I will be traveling next month. I have used VZW rental phones several times before without any problems but that defeats the purpose of buying a global phone.
Can just have VZW provide me the unlock code and buy another SIM that can be used in Colombia? If so any suggestions on who's SIM to buy?

Yes, just call Verizon global division and they will give you the unlock code. You can then buy pre-paid sims for the country you're visiting. Here's the number to call. 800-711-8300
