LG Dare VX-9700
Questions...
I've decided that my next phone will be the DARE...got a couple of questions if you don't mind helping me out...
I've read some about the proximity sensor having issues if it's covered in any way, even if using a clear skin or clear screen protector, has this been the case for the majority of users?
I've looked at Bodyguardz and Invisible Shield by Zagg...I'm leaning toward Bodyguardz, reviews have stated it's easier to apply than the I.S. and it lasts longer without yellowing or peeling/cracking off...anyone have any input about either of these?

Ive have no issues with the sensors. They just adjust the screen brightness automatically and the proximity one to shut off the light when talking on the phone and turn back on to add notes, ect while on a call.
As far as a screen protector, Ive had Verizon ones which did an ok job, it just couldnt take the finger print magnet thing anymore. So I went with Boxwave (boxwave.com) cover and it works great. Highly durable, easy install and peel off for cleaning, resuable, uv protection, easy touch on the screen and no finger prints!

I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on my Dare (full-body and screen). I love the phone and the shield. The Zagg actually has a really small oval cutout where the sensors are so as long as you get it aligned correctly, there is no problem. The phone is awesome..no problems with it at all. The Zagg was money well spent. It is incredibly tough, totally clear, and really cuts down on fingerprints. It wipes off easy too. I like it because I carry my Dare in my pocket and I didn't want the added bulk of a case. Even the silicone skins add some thickness plus they pick up lint and dust like a magnet. You really have to look close to even see the Zagg once it's on.

i've been using the shield for a couple of years now.. and its great.. at least for the 1st few months.. afterwards the edges will pick up alot of dust and adhesive.. also instead of being clear.. it will change to a orange/brown color.. you will notice the difference after taking it off your phone for a warranty replacement.

Yeah, I read somewhere else that the shield will eventually start to darken. When that happens it's coming off. Do you remember how long it was before that started on yours'?

Ill have to say...a little more than six months.. But I don't think its really a problem.. Its just kind of disgusting.. With the invisible shield you have a lifetime warranty..so u can always peel it off and call in for another one.. Just say that you had your phone replaced and so u took off the shield.. Remember to send in your old shield back to zagg to keep your lifetime warranty..

DareNeophyte---so, which one are you going to get??? 🤨 So far Zagg, Bodyguardz and Boxwave have been mentioned. I, too, have a Dare with a Verizon shield on it. I HATE it. There are smears and fingerprints on it, not to mention the little bubbles of air that you can see. (I didn't put it on the phone the lady who sold it to me put it on). So, I'm just curious which one you're going with. As far as a "case" I already bought a "bodyglove" case and I'm not real sure I like it all that much. 🙄 Any advice would be great! 🙂

I ended up going with the Bodyguardz. I've had it on since I bought the phone, May 22. It's as good as I could've hoped for. It's durable and I can barely see it on the phone at all. There were many reviews that said it was difficult to apply and I have to say I disagree. It takes some patience but overall it was pretty simple. It does take at least 12 hours for it to "cure" and look invisible. Before that, it looks hazy and any imperfections look huge. I left some tiny bubbles on the screen and thought I totally messed it up. The next day, though, it all went away. Plus you get a discount on future purchases and they'll replace your exact purchase for life. Thus far it's shown no wear, discoloration, or anything. I say thumbs up!
