u PRESS on the screen if it were like a button.

its a screen you can glide ur finger over and it will light the icon up, but u must press in a lill bit to get into the app or w/e your doing.

Yep. You are wrong and should stop talking. This thing has already been disassembled in another forum and the entire screen sits on a button. Just like a key on a keyboard. The screen is sensitive to touch, but is still a button that you press for a response.
If you future, do your homework before you try calling people out.

I want to break one open and see what it looks like under the huge screen button, Should be the same as any button.BUT if the screen doesnt hold up atleast VZW allows to have insurance. Unlike At&t and their blackberrys or iphone. And seems like that would be covered under the 1 year manufactuers warranty so free replacement.(FRU)
AT&T will insure a Blackberry Bold and other Blackberry's. Get it strait, before you shout "unlike".
I also think this phone is well made and should be able to take clicking for several years.

But then again, it will be totally different because it is apple, right?
And the iphone is not in it's own class. It is a smartphone, marketed to tech consumers (and the "Me too" joneses). It boasts a full html browser, a media player, and the ability to recieve "push" email.
It is in the same class as other smartphones. Yes, it has a lot of eye candy, but this does not make it it's own class of phone.
Now, the fact that it is one of the only camera phones that can't send or receive picture messages does separate it, but it doesn't make it special.
as far as the storm touchscreen I agree with the OP, I haven't had my chance to test it, but its innovation from RIM
See, I love OSX, and own a macbook. I'm just no a fan of that phone, or really of ipods. they are decent devices, but they are not the end all be all, and they should be able to do some things (mms, equalizer for music player) BECAUSE they are apple products. Apple makes great stuff, I just think that the iphone still needs a lot of improvement. I feel that apple traded on their name and design factor and didn't spend enough time making a device with the same standards they hold their computers to.
(Not to mention att service around here sucks and I would need to drive an hour to get their 3g network, so having a smartphone around here is kinda a waste of potential. Veriz...
