BlackBerry Storm 9530
This or the IPhone?
Also, what do you want the phone for? If you need it for business use, but also want that iPhone-esque experience, get the Storm. Once the bugs are worked out it will probably be the best phone VZW offers. If you want the best Blackberry available switch and get the Bold or hold on and hope the CDMA version of the Bold arrives soon as is rumored.
If you want the best over-all computer like experience switch and get the iPhone. Once you own the iPhone and lea...

In my opinion, I am still sticking with my LG VX 8100 from 3/4 years ago. I have not found a single reason to upgrade since then.
I am by no means saying leave one for the other, but take this into account while you are shopping. Both phones will have good learning curves to them compared to your LG too. Too many people whining here about these phones when they haven't given them a fair chance.
Here is my situation: I have been with VZW for many years and the coverege is excellent. I live in Somerset, NJ. I heard that ATT coverage is awful. I am afraid to leave ATT. Besides, my friends and family have Verizon.
I have had the Moto Q for almost 2 years and am due for an upgrade. I passed on the Dare to get this phone. I played with one at the VZW store and an I-Phone owner said that ATT service sucks. The BB Storm has to be better than the Moto Q. Besides, if I order one at the store, I assume that I will get one that has the software fix. I am ...

I would give AT&T a try if you really want the iPhone. The iPhone itself is worth the effort. You can always go back and only be out a restocking fee. If you know how to work customer service you can even avoid that fee.
If the iPhone is not you ultimate goal try out the Storm. Hopefully the new software will be out soon and if it is not or does not live up to expectations you can exchange it as a faulty device and not pay a restocking fee. The Storm has enough issues at this time to easily declare it ...

Do you want to be able to print Pics at any time by removing the Memory card? Or just have the pretty pics on your phone.
Do you want Speaker phone/ Music player without having to hook up a speaker?
Do you want to be able to replace the battery if anything goes wrong?
Do you want to be able to record a video from your phone? Not an option on the Iphone
Do you want to be able to take a pic and send them to a friend or family members cell phone? Can't do that with an Iphone unless they all have an Iphone.
Do you want a 2.0 mp camera or a 3.2 mp camera with a flash and auto focus? Pics on the Iphone are often very blurry.
Do you want talking GPS? Or quiet GPS?
Do you want insurance on the phone? ...

Simply transfer the pics you have on your phone to your e-mail and you have a higher resolution pic ready to print right on your computer without the need of a card reader. It is nice to be able to have seperate cards for music, pics, etc. You do not always need the same things at the same time.

The iPhone has a speaker too and the one on my Sto...

Thanks again for all of the thoughts. My primary uses for the phone (other than calls, of course) is web browsing, music and video..
Then get the iPhone for sure. It is unparalleled in those fields.
The only reason to accept the lower level of web browsing and multi-media capabilities of the Storm would be because of the business related capabilities.
For the use you are describing the Storm is not even close to the iPhone. It's web browser has difficulties with graphic intensive pages and is choppy. As for music and videos, there is only one iPod and the Storm is not an iPod.
The Blackberry Storm is a great business tool with good multimedia features. The iPhone is the all time best multimedia phone...period.
(or am i wrong about the txt msg)
Unless of course you down load a 3rd party app like "Flutter"...then you can send MMS messages too.

IMHO, the Bold is a better Blackberry than the Storm by a long shot.
And I bet you will see the Bold (well cdma version) on VZW as soon as they can get their hands on it, or if not, do what VZW usually does, lets Sprint work out the bugs then adopt it.
Chris12211 said:I have not seen one in person yet, but everyone I know that has seen one tells me they are very promising.
It looks like the Omnia throws a monkey wrench into this discussion. I am going to get that instead of either.
I love the idea o the combination of a true touch screen and an optical mouse.
I hear from multiple sources that it is not currently 3G capable in the USA. You will be limited to EDGE speeds for downloads and browsing unless you are in a WiFi area. Thank goodness they left WiFi intact. I am betting the lack of 3G capability is the reason VZW finally agreed to have a phone with WiFi.
I am also not happy with all the proprietary connections. You cannot even put headphones into it with a bulky adapter.
The other concern I have is the Windows Mobile OS. I am just not a fan. It is nice that Samsung has altered a lot of the WM interfaces with their own "finger friendly" interfaces.
I do like the optical mouse and the vibrating haptic fee...

I just got back from the VZW store in North Brunswick and again played with the storm. I watched a movie trailer and I must say that the video kicks A**! It is like HD on a phone. I would prefer the touch keyboard, but the push is not all that bad. The speed of the internet browser is MUCH faster than my Motorola Q. Is 3G that much faster than EVDO? It appears to be. wi-fi is not a major issue as the 3G and VZW coverage is good enough. I will play with an IPhone sometime next week. I am leaning twords the Storm. No, I am not a schizo. LOL
