RIM lowers third quarter outlook, touts Storm sales

RIM now says it's expecting to rake in just $2.75 to $2.78 billion, with its adjusted earnings now expected to be 0.81 to $0.83 per share, and not $0.89 to $0.97 per share, as previously forecast. I got a Storm the first day they were out and kept it until Saturday. I upgraded to the Leaked software the day it came out.
While the Storm might be acceptable to a light user or some young person more interested in an iPhone type device for the kewl factor, it performs dismally for a business person wanting productivity from their mobile device. Even after the upgrade, the lags were still quite evident and the speed with which the touch screen responded was very inconsistent, resulting in numerous errors and requiring s alot of back tracking. I will be curius to see real numbers on this phone's sales. So far they are only making vague statements that sound more like sales pitches than anything else. If the can get the new software info out to the public they could probably bring back a lot of people that rejected the phone based on the initial software. Of course to do that they will have to admit the intial error of the phone being not quite ready when it was released.
Sales numbers will be high which means return numbers will obviously be high. I am sure returns were a much higher percentage than normal based on software issues and the phone being overhyped. Should be interesting. Telus in Canada soft launched the Stor...
