BlackBerry Storm 9530
Blackberry storm........thumb's up or thumb's down
+ Screen is very bright and clear
+ UI is basically good
+ Solid BB messaging/platform
+ Media Manager, photos etc. I was able to rip and load some TV shows as well
+ 8GB memory chip came with it
- Battery seems to be struggling for more than one day
- Typing took a little getting used to but now is fine
- A little awkward to get used to typing while holding the odd shape
- Can't type as fast as QWERTY
The media features are great...
I really love the huge screen!...
All in all, I don't currently have a complaint about my Storm...except for maybe needing to wait for the apps to be available!
My complaints are the following:
1. I cool w/ the keyboard but its hard as hell placing the cursor where you need it. The should have allowed you to use the web browsing cursor or should have kept the track ball. I know they are competing w/ the iPhone but making the device a bit fatter and including a qwerty keyboard would have been better. Most businessmen w/ big hands shy away from touch screens.
2. When playing YouTube I was expecting it to come out much clearer. As good as my desktop. The iPhone was as great to me also but @ least the pixels don't seem to explode and the audio doesn't come out the same when you playing a movie....

Those conditions being....
1. They continue to improve the still quite buggy, but much improved, software. If they do not release a new version by february I would change to thumbs down.
2. You are not a heavy duty business user that requires rapid typing. The suretype screen does not allow for overlapping selection which slows typing considerably for the faster typists.
3. You are not extremely picky about internet embedded video playback. The Storm does not do the best job in this category. I think it might be because of the lack of WiFi (slower connection speeds) since I notice all my WiFi phones play video clearer (while on WiFi), while the non-WiFi phones are not a good.

I bought my Storm for full price so I have a large $$ investment into it. I have activated it three times on my line. I am really trying to like it, but the OS is still buggy.
The screen is great, the audio playback is great, the camera is great. Reception has been iffy, but I have not dropped any calls. The accelerometer still gets confused between portrait and landscape modes. Typing on the landscape keyboard is tough at times, I type on the portrait keyboard as much as I can. I still have to do multiple presses at times for icons and or letters on the keypads.
My time frame for another update is a lot shorter, seeing I also am trying the BOLD on AT&T and my 30 day trial is up at EOM. I am really...
