BlackBerry Storm 9530

Just got off the phone with verizon wireless tech support. I have been having issues with the audible tone for texts (mms and sms), emails, or bbm's, not going off when the phone switches to or is in landscape mode. The tech guy i spoke with states they are aware of the problem as a known issue.

Has anyone else has this same issue? Seems strange that the audible alert for texts, emails, and bbm's, will go off when in portrait mode, however not in landscape. The call ringer works in both landscape and portriat.

Anyone have any recommendations or fixes before I mail this thing back? Overall I like the phone, but I need the alert to go off if the phone is in my pocket. Cant be looking for the led indicator every 5 mins.
