MORE STORM NEWS !! STORM FTW Thanks Google.

"Google Maps on Verizon's BlackBerry Storm now uses GPS for My Location" quote from article.

This is the URL
http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/2009/02/google-maps ... »

The article is on Google Mobile Blog.
Google says that google maps for the Storm will now use the onboard GPS chipset, instead of the
cell tower triangulation(A-GPS)
Now you have "real" gps in an awesome phone.

The Storm keeps getting better and better.
Google on my storm is like icing on an already super delicious cake.
dont hurt me google.

Screen dust?

So I'm starting to notice what appears to be dust build up on my screen...only when I try to clean it off, it doesn't budge. Is this letting dust slip underneath the screen somehow?...any ideas on cleaning it? 😕

Price on Storm? How long b4 it is lowered?

I realize this is very new but was wondering how long it basically is before a new item is reduced in price at all. I really like the Storm, but it's more than I wanted/could spend at this time.

Please Help: Messaging Question

I was reading a Article about text messaging on the BB STORM and it said that the STORM deletes Text Messages that have been there 30 Days. Is that true? The phone I have now (VX6800) does not make me delete any text messages. It holds unlimited amount of messages forever.

BB Storm vs Omnia Please assist me with the decision.

Guys,

I'm torn between the two, so i'm soliciting some help. Any help is appreciated. If you pick one or the other give a reason if possible, I don't want to get screwed by verizon and not be able to switch it out. Thank you.

PS. New Every Two has me at $99.99 for the storm and Free Omnia. Price usually is not an option for me, I'll pay more for quality.

Things that make me go hmmmm?

There are two issues that maybe someone can help me clear up:

1. App error 523. Man, I hate this. Does anyone know how to fix this? Since it is an "app error" can it be corrected by removing a particular app?

2. Is there a way to set my Storm to lock and request a password upon powering on? I tried setting a password but it makes me enter my password for everything (i.e., making a call, changing options, etc.) I wanna just have a password for powering on in case I lose it.

Thanx in advance!

Anyone else experiencing this?

When I put music on my card or add a couple songs I always have to re insert the card so the device will read the new songs I put on it. The first insert it doesnt add them when scanning, the second time it will. Using media manager its the same issue I have to pull out the card and re insert it after I transfered them. Any help would be apreciated! Steven n Cali

about locking the phone

Hi,my daughter and I are looking to buy a storm (currently I have a pearl), I was reading the reviews, and someone said it doesnt have a lock for the touch screen so you may make call by mistake. Is this true? Also, my daughter is on the fence between the storm and the omnia, any more comments for either would great! thanks 😁

So, What's so cool about it?

1. How are you going to get e-mails when you are traveling abroad without WI-FI?
2. How can I watch my Slingbox when I travel?

Data Roaming?

3. Can you make VOIP calls on this phone?
4. Is it possible to transfer a presentation or contact via bluetooth from my phone to this phone? Historicaly it was not possible with Verizon.

Correct me if I am wrong, but this does not sound as a business-friendly phone, but I had no chance to play with it.

Some mentioned being able to successfully move music and vids to the phone. Considering the fact that Verizon's been blocking moving "outside" music and vids to some phones for years, it may be a big development for Verizon's customers, but for others that's been just a standard feature ...

Storm VS Samsung Omnia

Alright. I am about to update my phone, but am really doing my research this time around. I have talked to plenty of dealers, but don't have any actual users first hand opinion.
My main concern with my phone, is a]text easily b]web browser c]system for calendar/notes

Does anyone have any opinion of what would be better? Even outside of those three points?

I'm kind of afraid to trust Samsung because I have always known their products to be less sturdy than any other given brand. I've got to put bias aside while making this decision though.

Any help or comments would be of GREAT help!!

Thanks!!

OS 4.7.0.103 leaked!

Too many of these leaked OS's to keep track of. There is even a hybrid 4.7.0.100 OS out there that the crackberry.com guys put together themselves from the best of prior OS's!

The 4.7.0.103 leak can be found here but I am sure there will be more places to get the OS from as the day goes on.

$10 Data plan?? WTF?!?!?!?!

Is this true?????

A girl in a class of mine has the Storm and told me that she DOESN'T PAY the $29.99 Blackberry plan, she only pays $10!

She's on a plan with her boyfriend (who also has a storm) and they each pay the $10, which SHE SAYS includes EVERYTHING:
*Unlimited Email
*Unlimited Internet
*Unlimited SMS/MMS

I called the customer service, and OF COURSE they don't me that the girl in my class is lying. But all you whizzes out there, is this true????? And if so, what do I say at the Verizon store this Saturday when I go get it???
