Spoke to my direct Verizon IDR and got the scoop on the upgrade. Apparently HTC's Sense UI isn't cooperating with Android 2.1 a.k.a. Snapdragon. So it looks like it could be delayed until May or June. đ

Erm...I'm pretty sure that it was scheduled for the first half of 2010, anyway, so I'm not disappointed.

First QUARTER. It was due to be released mid march but ran into problems during final stages of testing with Verizon.

i love my eris đ no dissapointment here although it would be nice to have the turn by turn and other stuff we dont have now.....so what acctually is the eris capeable of? ive had the phone for a few months and havent done much with it other than the normal google maps and stuff like that...any ideas? i know it can do alot but this is my first smart phone so im learning everyday đ

will we have the same turn by turn as the nexus one when we get the update??? im watching it on here and it is making me jealous âšī¸ also would i be able to get an unlocked nexus one and put it on my current plan with verizon insted of using my eris??? this probably wont happen i was just wondering if it was possible

I'm pretty sure that the Nexus One is a GSM device, so no, it won't work on Verizon Wireless' network. And yeah, we'll have the crazy navigation capabilities with the 2.0/2.1 update, so don't worry. đ

Actually Sense works just fine with 2.1 the snag in the OTA was that some users where experiencing a full wipe when they dl the update. and snapdragon is the name of the 1ghz processor. 2.1 is officially called flan.

2.1 is still part of eclaire. 2.2 is froyo. Flan was just speculation. WHatever they call it I'd really like to get some kind of update for my eris. the incredible proves that sense UI works with android 2.1 so I wish they'd get on with this update already.

you can go to androidforums.com and d/l a leaked version on 2.1 for the eris. it is from htc and works great. verizon has also posted a " coming soon" pdf file for the official 2.1 ota. who knows when that will be but for now try the leak if you'd like. android forums is a great place to get all the info you need.
