Nice Improvements Over the First One, But ....
If this Droid had those features, I wouldn't think twice. Verizon is still playing catch up baseball to the iPhone.

WCDMA 2100. Unlike the dual mode CDMA Droid X. The reason your Tour never went into CDMA mode while you were on travel overseas is because you have a 3G phone. In the places where GSM only exists, the gsm networks also have WCDMA capability. Your phone was working in WCDMA. A dual mode CDMA phone like the DROID X will not work in most countries PERIOD because GSM networks are the most prominent and cheapest to run. I too travel a ton, I am currently in Taiwan writing this message where CDMA networks DO NOT exist at all but phones with 3G WCDMA will. When Blackberry gets their slideways touch screen phone with BBOS6, we may actually have a comparable phone to the Android storm ... or even... iPhone.
Don't hate. Just accept it. I used to say if the Iphone came to Verizon I would jump all over it. Now that I've used Android I will never leave
I was able to make and receive calls, send/receive text messages etc (abit at a much higher rate due to roaming)
I did not try wireless data for fear of what my bill would be like.
I did end up with a $400 roaming bill for the phone calls/txt messages while in Taiwan and Japan.
So there is CDMA coverage at least in Taiwan and Japan. I don't know about other asian countries.
-No GSM=which means nothing to 95%+ of verizon's customer base. On top of that, if you have verizon, you can "rent" a gsm phone if you do travel.
Another option is to sign up for google voice, make that your primary number, and then when you are overseas, have it ring through a prepaid cell on that carrier and bing! you have international calls.
If you're traveling that much anyway, you're doing it for work, so you have a work phone. If you're doing it for pleasure, you can afford dropping 550 on an unlocked N1 and...
