Why Would Anyone Buy This Phone Now ...
Granted, it's about time Verizon Came Out With a Global Android, but this should have happened months ago.
At this point, I and almost everyone I know is waiting to see what the LTE models can really do before upgrading their phones.
The iPhone lacks a physical keyboard, and is not running Android. That's a deal breaker for a whole lot of people, myself included (especially the lack of Android. I've played around with enough iPhones and iPads at work, setting up email accounts and testing websites to have a distaste for it).
It'd almost make sense, in general, to go and get the unlimited data plan in case Verizon decides to kill it off (being grandfathered in is a lovely thing). I really hope that they do not, especially as I'm sure a whole ton of people are going to swap over...

If you think about it, it does make sense from a business perspective, because of both the PR value from people like me posting in forums like this "I can't believe what Verizon just did for me!!" and from a pure customer retention standpoint, I am more likely to stay if I don't feel I'm getting overcharged. And if I am using less than 50% of my minutes, odds are good I'm going to fee...

Also, you can open up the Droid and increase the memory or change the battery if you so desire...Just try that with Apple anything. And best of all, you do not have Apple nosing into everything you do and telling you which computer you can and cannot connect to.
For my money that is worth a lot.
