HTC Sensation 4G
LACKS HSPA+
I noticed a HUGE boost when I switched to a Samsung Galaxy S 4G HSPA+ 21 from a MyTouch 4G HSPA 14.
HSPA+ > HSPA
Sad to hear the Sensation won't have HSPA+ 21 support as 14.4 HSPA was way too slow to stream YouTube for my liking. I know some say HSPA 14 is fast enogh for them, but for me it's not even close. Guess it's just my area /shrug
Seems like only Samsung is pushing out HSPA+ phones for TMO atm, like the Sidekick 4G and Galaxy S 4G, anyone know why other phone makers aren't making HSPA+ phones?
G2X is also just HSPA 14 which was a dissapointment as well.
Also, if you take a look at T-Mobiles roadmap of recently released and future released phones, they ALL lack HSPA+ except Samsung. I suspect it has something to do with the pending merger and use of certain spectrum, but in the end it's the consumer that suffers.
At least in my case for sure it has since I have used both HSPA and HSPA+, the later comes out way ahead. It could be just my area or not, but check out the article for some more info.

Not only is network speed an issue when you webbrowse, it is also about how fast your phone can render the pages.
I have both a Sidekick 4G with 21 and a Sensation with 14 and live within a few miles of T-Mobile's HQ in Bellevue, so I always have full signal on all network technologies.
My sidekick may stream alittle faster on youtube, but on web-browsing, especially on picture heavy sites, my Sensation completes the full rendering of the site faster.
Indeed specs don't matter if the product produces the experience you expect and need. In my case, HSPA 14 didn't produce. I was getting 200-512 kbps download speeds and 50-128ish upload speeds. The effect, well, Youtube was pretty much worthless. Uploading of pics, vids, etc. extremely slow. This is also in an area that TMO advertised as HSPA+ 21 at the time I owned the MyTouch 4G (HSPA 14)but has been upgraded to HSPA+ 42 as of late May.
Solution: Tried out a HSPA+ 21 phone in the Galaxy S 4G and Youtube now works as intended. Uploading of vids and pics are tolerable now.
I still may...
