Palm Treo 600 (CDMA)

This is my first time posting on this site so hopefully this will work.

I recently bought a Verizon Treo 600. So far it has worked quite well; I have fortunately not experienced most of the problems listed on the site. However, I cannot seem to locate any preference to set continual alerts for voicemail or text messages, etc.

Maybe an example would help. On my Motorola phones when I missed a voicemail or text messate it would continue to make a beep/sound or vibrate about once every 15/20 seconds until I checked the messages. I cannot seem to locate this function on the Treo. If you look at the Treo it will tell you that you missed a call/message but if you don't have it on you or you can't see it or you just plain missed the call...

my main question is this: i own the kyocera 7135 and the major problem is that it resets and i lose data often and i have to resync every week or so. it's horrible! i need to know if the treo resests or has consistent software erros. this is so important! i cannot begin to tell you how angered i am at kyocera. i have been through 4 of them. so if the treo does not have this problem i would consider it. any comments?

I put several pictures from my desktop computer on to a SD card; then I put the card into the Treo 600, but the files don't show up. Is there some special format that pictures/ringtones/etc. have to be in for the Treo to recognize them?

I stopped into a VZW store on Friday night, and was told because I had only recently upgraded my phone and restarted my contract (got a audiovox 8900 in jan or feb) that I wasn't eligible for the $449 pricing, and would have to pay the full $549.

Does that sound right?

I downloaded the free PocketTunes for registering my Treo and tried to install it. However, every time I try to Synch with an application in the conduit (Quick Install) I get a message "HotSynch operation was interrupted.Some of your data was NOT backed up." When I look at the log it says "HotSynch operation was terminated. An application on teh PC filed to respond to the HotSync operation initialization notification. This application may need to be restarted." If I take the applications I want to install out of the conduit, everything syncs perfectly. I suspect the conduit. Has anyone else had this problem (found a solution?) Thanks

This may come as some surprise to some people but I had a Treo 600 from AT&T Wireless and after one locked up and the replacement unit (AT&T was very nice about replacing it) only downloaded "some" of the messages on my server (I watched at my desktop, repeatedly), I called Palm and got a level 5 senior senior tech and he said if I want reliable email with the Treo to drop AT&T and go to VZW. He said the job they did with it is superb, and that any talk about CDMA not being as good as GSM for data was only because Sprint used to be the only ones with CDMA and their network was not on a par with VZW.

However, it seems the VZW version of the Treo is very different than the others. VZW customized it substantially -- no SIM card, for instance...

I hava motorola V60 and was planning to get V710 but after reading all ther reviews for 710 I'm not keen to get it. I'm very keen now to get the Treo 600 and wanted to know its performance especially on Verizon's network. I always wanted to get a TriMode phone but I dont travel a lot.
If anybody was able to compare Treo's performance with other Trimode Phone can reply to my message it would be great.
Should I buy Treo 600 or Audiovox 9900 (expected to come out in few weeks or wait for LG8000(I know it is all digital set).
I'm eligible for a $100 rebate from Verizon.

I am very interested in a Treo 600 or a similar device, I would like it to have bluetooth capability so it will synch with my car.

Does anyone know if such a device is out or coming out, I can't get an information from palm if this is going to be in their next models.

you dont want the treo 600 bc the treo 610 is coming out in a few months and it will be MUCH better. higher screen resolution, bluetooth and many other features that i forget. search for it on google and you will see. i repeat, DO NOT get the treo 600 bc you will be very upset when the trwo 610 comes out.

Is Java available on the Treo 600?

Friend of mine wants to get Verizon 1x service and be able to go into a yahoo chatroom (which is java-enabled)...

If anyone knows, would it work for the Sams i700? I know this isn't the forum for it, but I ask just in case someone knows.

Does anyone know of any email software that I can download so that I can receive emails in full from different email accounts. I currently have two email accounts forwarding incoming mail to my treo, however it only displays a certain amount of characters. If anyone has a solution, I would appreciate the knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Just wondering if anyone besides myself is having trouble with txt messaging on the VZW version of the Treo 600???? I am on my 3rd handset...

I am thinking about consolidating my cell phone and PDA into one unit, and the Treo might be the answer. I'd also like to utilize it as a GPS for driving/walking navigation.

Along the lines of GPS usage, Pretec is the only SDIO unit I can find for PalmOS. One important area for mapping is memory. Does the Treo have only one SD slot? If so, an extra memory card would need to be removed, and the Pretec (or whoever else I end up with) would go in the memory card's place. Now, I have GPS, but no extra memory.

Memory is needed for storing maps, redrawing maps, and many other functions. How does a GPS user, then, successfully use the Treo as a GPS device with potentially limited memory with a GPS in the expansion device?

What's the Difference between the Treo 600 and the Treo 600 WOC? I can't tell the major difference on the VRZ webpage. THanks

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when using the web browser, specifically in the Handango site, whenever I enter one or two characters from the keyboard, the entire palm reboots.

I just got my TREO from Verizon, and love it. They are advertising, however, wireless synchronization to Outlook on the desktop. Unfortunately, their support people (after trying for several days to find someone who knew what he was talking about) told me that this isn't compatible with Outlook 2003. This really sucks.

I am new to this forum and the Treo. I tried to search before posting, so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered.

I just received my Treo 600 on Verizon. I am very excited. I've been waiting a long time for this. However, I have a few questions now that I've had a few hours to play with it.


Can one enter text with the stylus, or is it limited to just keyboard entry?

Also, I can't seem to make the notepad enter into a graphics mode to draw pictures. Is this possible?

What do I need to sync my Outlook email?

I'm on my second Treo 600 from VZW. Both phones reboot when you press the inbox key, when you try to dial a call. It's also rebooting when your not even touching the phone! A big disaster so far! Anyone else having the same issues?
