HELP WITH DECISION ASAP 9900vs710vs7000
hey guys and gals. if you read this thread, please respond! i need big help making a decision. almost 2 weeks ago, i got the motorola v710. while i like alot of features on the phone, such as a higher resolution camera and the speakerphone, i hate the keybad, volume, and the glossy-ness of it which always makes it look smudgy.
i must return the 710 by friday if i want to get another phone. the only other thing verizon has that interests me is the LG 7000.
now, the rep told me about the 9900, and said it came out 9/30/04. if i wanted that phone, i would have to return my 710 friday, then be w/o a phone for 2weeks (my old phone is broken), and use my new-every-two for the audiovox when it comes out 9/30/04. since i already tried...

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSE!!! however i'm a little confused. youre saying i should:
give back my 710 tommorrow. go without a phone for 1 day. then get another 710 (b/c if i got the 7000 for 2wks i'd have to keep it). then i would keep the 710 for 2 weeks, turn it in and get the audiovox9900? is that correct?

no... you can get any phone even the vx7000 as i said as long as you give it back and dont switch it for another phone, u buy and give back and so on untill something you like comes out or the store gets pissed off so u can do it online or through the phone.

How about this idea. I would return the phone, get your money back in full, and then go right home and jump on the computer. EBAY...Go online and get a cheap ass VZW phone to use until the 9900 is out. There are some cheap phones, real older models in working condition. This will also give you a back up phone just in case anything was to happen to your phone. I have looked and you could find even an old star-tac for 9.99, 14.99. try ebay or there sister company: Half.com, to get it even cheaper and faster b/c theres no bidding only "buy it now"option. Its just an idea but at least you got a phone rather than nothing, or something you dont like. hope it helps. 😁

To get you by until you get your next phone, you might try Trac phone. It is a pay as you go service with cheap phones.
I think I will wait until the 9900 comes out. I have an indestructable 9100 that I have been using for 3 years. It gets a signal where others won't. I hope the 9900 will come with a luxeon flash, or a xenon flash. It would improve low light pictures significantly. Good luck with your decision, Armitech

i would say return the phone before your 15 days. the reason i say this is because you could be without a phone for 2 weeks, but how about if the audiovox is better?? also keep in mind if you don't like the audiovox you have 15 days to try that one out, and if you do one to go bk to the moto you can... keep your opts open... or you can even try out the lg-7k, but that's only an all digital phone!!!!

The 7000 is a great phone except for one thing. The RF is the worst I've experienced on any verizon phone. I'll be returning mine and buying the 9900. I just hope it does come out on the 30th.......otherwise I'll have to go back to my 510 for a while. Ilove the v710 on paper but I'm not willing to risk it with all the reported problems.
