As for an exact date the 30th has still been it, but the last time I tried to get a date out of the Verizon Wireless people they said that they weren't giving a "date" because it may be delayed and people get on the employees for that 😈 .
So, as for a "planned date" I don't believe there is one, I think it will be in the stores when it's in the stores. If it's not the 30th, then it'll be later...I wouldn't be surprised! Sad, but not surprised 🙄!

I hate to correct myself, but one of my friends went into a Verizon store to sign up with them and while I was there SHE (the new customer) asked and they gave her a date of the 30th. Sounds like it might be out at this time. Although, when I asked later as an existing customer they told me that they weren't giving out a date because it might be delayed...it was the same person also.
So, long story short...a new customer asking for the release date of this phone will probably get the answer of September 30th, and if we (existing customers) ask we'll get a beating around the bush answer. Hope this helps someone out there. 😁

I was in my local Verizon Store and the a**hole of a guy told me he haden't even heard of the 9900, but then I just said I know they can't say anything to customers about new phones because they want us to buy the one we don't really want and then come back and hopefully buy that one also. B.S.!
Anyway, he said that quite a few phones are coming out on the 1st of October. The only phone he mentioned was the 8910/8920...he wasn't exactly sure on the number, but was saying it was the newer 8900.
So, it looks as if it'll be here (hopefully) the 1st. Although, seeing how it's been going this phone will be so outdated by the time we all buy it we'll need new ones within a few months!
Sprint's version of this phone has been out for many, m...

It's been a real stellar introduction hasn't it. Same situation with a local Verizon Store in Brookfield, Wisconsin. They don't know a thing, and the Audiovox CDM-9900 has not arrived at their store. They would not count the phone down and out because surprises have occurred in the past.
In this forum I don't believe one can get back as far as March 2004 anymore, but if one can, and you read from then until the present, you would find this whole story a joke and laughable.
Audiovox or Verizon should never have shown this thing off at a trade show, that way no one could be disappointed with, or have waited for the unknown. Friday, October 1st, ought to be intersting. 🤣

i'm unsure about getting the 710/7000/9900 myself.the bluetooth on the 710 is cool but i feel alittle funny about motorola

Just got off the phone with VZ. Called them on a different matter, and happened to ask about release of the 9900, and the rep. said that it along with the 8910 is due to be released on the 1st.

Yes, the release date is still the 30th.
I am a verizon dealer and I have a dummy phone of the 9900. The audiovox 8610 is also comming out on the 30th.

The 9900 was available yesterday from the VZW warehouse. I'm friends with an authorized dealer, he got one in a few hours ago. It's a sweet phone. Feels solid. When you open it, it 'clicks' open & stays that way. You have to make a serious effort to close it. Not obnoxious, to me, it makes the phone feel well-made & solid - like the 'thunk' when you close the door on a Mercedes.

The screens are nice & big, like the old Audiovox 9500. The camera image is good, better than the Motorola V710, IMO. Earpiece is nice & loud. I'm liking this phone so far, and in the past, I've HATED Audiovoxes. Let's see if these hold up over the long haul.
