Best USB/Phonebook Sofware?

I just purchased 2 CDM-9900's and am looking to
buy a usb cable and some software to manage the contacts. Any suggestions?

I looked on ebay, and some of the stuff there was more expensive than buying the Verizon Mobile office kit. 38 dollars direct from Verizon.

Maybe once I have the usb cable, I can move some stuff back and forth to the media gallery?

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Can I buy this so that I can just download any pictures/video to my pc? or is the only way to retrieve it off the phone is to send it via email... which costs money? what can you use the usb connector for exactly? Thanks for any help!

I can't say for sure, but I asked the question during my purchase last Saturday and the Verizon Sales Rep. said no. Verizon generated revenue from this.
I wouldn't take that as a final answer, but if one was to down load from a phone directly into a computer, would you not be better off using a better multi-pixel digital camera from the start?

sure a "multi-pixel digital camera" would be better. but thats not always convenient nor handy. plus, if i wanted to sync up calendar and contacts, then it's just a bonus to be able to easily up/download ringtones, pictures, viceos, and backgrounds!

And a mega-pixel camera isn't worth a damn if the manufacturer cheaped out on the lense.

To me the camera is of no real use. I already have a nice one. What I asked orignally is, what is the best software to manage my address book with a USB cable?

Any other functionality is a bonus.

How about Bitpim?

Thanks

Kilgor,
I've only used Audiovox's moblie software that they offer with their phones, so that's all I have to go on...it's kinda blah so far but I haven't really tinkered with it.

Me personally, I'm a huge fan of Outlook, so my vote would be for any of the packages that incorprortate Outlook via USB. Which I understand this Audio package can do, but I haven't figured it out yet. Oh yeah, I got this off eBay for the 9500 (with cable) for $20.00. The 9900 version should be out soon...

I've heard great things about this DataPilot pkg but I've never seen it in action. It even has a ringtone composer that allows you to transfer custom ringtones to your phone (some models). I could never locate this package for the Audiovox, but they ar...

The Verizon tech guy told me that he himself had this phone and he knew it very well. He said that, contrary to the official Verizon Party Line, yes you can move the photos from the phone to the computer via the data cable. But he said that he was not allowed to tell me how. He said that I could google up the info. I just got the cable, so i haven't tried yet.

I was told the same thing from Verizon last night and they suggested I contact Audiovox and gave me the toll free number. I called this morning and the tech guy says there is a service pack that allows you to transfer files, but Verizons software programing is not compatible with it and won't work. He figures eventually someone will come up with a work around but as yet he doesn't know of one. If you find one please pass it on. Bottom line, Verizon has set up a major road block.
