Mine is going back as well.
If the LG 6100 is out this week than I'll probably get that instead.

Cant stand the single holed earpiece (can never line it up with my ear) and the plastic is starting to creek like mad when I hold it up to my face.

I hope to return it before I throw it out the window. God I love the features though.

I love the single hole earpiece and I will tell you why....because on some other phones, if they are at the loudest setting, you can hear the whole conversaiton. There is no privacy. On this phone, that doesnt happen....

I figured out that if I align the top of the flip portion of the phone to my ear instead of further down (where it seems more natural), then the single hole problem goes away. It's not that hard to get used to.

If you look closely at virtually every phone on the market, you will see that 95% or more of them only have a single hole in the Earpiece. They usually have lots of fake holes and sculpturing that leads nowhere, even though it may give you a warm fuzzy feeling that there is more there than there actually is.

hmm...I was wondering about the single holed earpiece before I got mine yesterday. But so far have had no problems using it...the other end seems loud and clear to me. 🙂

Here's my take on it. Phones had become excessively small. The 9900 is bigger than we're used to (which I like). If you align the mouthpiece with your mouth, then the ear hole isn't lined up with your ear. Once I line the top of the phone with the center of my ear, I'm fine.

I agree. Although I'm not 100% sure whether or not I'm keeping mine, I do like the feel of it...it actually feels like a phone in your hand and not like a tiny gadget.

My 15-day trial period with the 9900 is almost over. The only thing that was a concern to me in the beginning was the size of the phone, but with everything else this phone has going for it, the size no longer matters to me. I've been looking for a phone for a long time. I'm not a fan of Verizon's phones, and there is no perfect phone out there, but this one is the closest to perfect that I've found...at least for me.

I'm planning to take the 9900 back when my 15 day-trial period is over. I'm waiting for the LG vx6100. I used LG vx4400 before and I love the manner mode and I'm able to erase all calls with a single function and more functions 9900 doesn't have. I like the big screen LCD, and the speakerphone on 9900. I'm not a fan of Verizon's phones either but Verizon offers better receptions than other carrier out there. I hope I will like the LG vx6100

What is the benefit of erasing your entire call history? I consider the 90 most Recent Calls (received, dialed and missed) that the CDM9900 is capable of retreiving to be a great benefit. Granted, the most frequently accessed history will be the ten or twenty MOST recent calls, but not losing some of the earlier ones could prove to be a lifesaver. If you don't want to see your earlier call history, just don't scroll that far back. Realize that the oldest in the list get bumped off as new ones are automatically added.

If you want to erase ALL of the messages from your Inbox, Outbox and Saved folder, see page 74 of your User Manual. There is also the Auto Delete function explained on page 72.

You may be able to erase them from the phone, but you can't erase them from the monthly statement. There is always a trail that can be followed if someone wants to.

The LG 6100 does not have a retractable antenna. I found that my 9900 and a previous Motorola V60i with retractable antannas out performed my LG VX 6000 in certain fringe areas. The 6000 was a great little phone. The 6100 has all the features I would want except the antenna.

To me,of the top ten features of a phone reception is number 1. All the others are tied for last. That is why I'm keeping my 9900 that I purchased for full retail. It's a lot of phone for the money and has all the features I want.

My 15-day trial is also almost up, 9900 is good, but I am concerned about remote area reception, plus the new LG-6100 is out, does anyone have a comparison of the two? (Audio.-9900=LG-6100)
