Mr. Bill,

I tried the Field Test and Settings Mode as you detailed, but it didn't work for me. Do I enter 000000 in the first 10 seconds also? Do I have to hold the left soft key down the entire time?

Sorry to be such a newbie, and thanks.

I don't really know what to say...

I gave the instructions in the simplest manner that I know how to...

I just had a ten year old nephew follow the instructions and got to the Field Test mode on the first try...

When you turn the phone on are you waiting for the Idle Screen to appear before you enter the rest... your 10 seconds starts when the Idle Screen appears...

I know, your directions were excellent. Is the idle screen what displays while the phone boots up after your turn it on?

I figured it out. The idle screen is once it boots up and shows the time, etc. D'oh!

Thank you for your patience!

It is exactly what it implies...

When your phone is just sitting there doing nothing, waiting to dial a number or receive a call, when your wallpaper is up and your clock is showing... then the Phone is Idle... that is the Idle Screen...

I'm able to get the that menu after the phone is already turned on...it just takes a few tries. After browsing thru howardforum and cellphonehacks, I was able to get thru from following their instructions. But the thing is...I think I'm going to have to exchange my phone for another because I accidently hit the reset wap option 😢 Stupid me wanted to try the free wap and unknowingly hit that option. So now getting any kind of web is a no go. After I get my replacement...no more trying to access hidden menus for me without first knowing what I'm doing. So for those of you who are trying to get free web access...DO NOT RESET THE WAP SETTINGS.
