Help setting up mobileweb4u on my 9900

rrayl

I just subscribed to mobileweb4u and tried setting up my phone. I emailed mobileweb4u but see that tech support is closed until monday and I want to try the service asap. My problem is when I press 7 and the * once or twice in my settings menu, nothing happens. I cannot ever get to the FSC code page.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you turned your phone off and then turned it on before pressing menu, 7, * (once or twice)?

Thanks akasha, for responding, but yes, I have tried many times turning the phone off and on again without success.

Thanks a million, Compubuff. Your suggestion worked like a charm. Now I will see if surfing web on the phone is worth the trouble and expense.
Do you know if there is any tutorials or information on surfing on the phone?
Thanks again.

Glad it worked for you! 😁 I don't know of any tutorials or info on surfing tho. Can you get to yahoo & google with mobileweb4u?

Go to wap4.mobileweb4u.com on your PC. You can see exactly what will be available on your phone if you subscribe.

If you are trying mobileweb4u, it seems you can get google and yahoo. Google is the search engine under 9. Searches off the main menu. Yahoo is available as choice under 8. Portals off the main menu.
I haven't really used either yet so I can't comment on how well it would work. I am still a newbie when it comes to surfing via phone, but will certainly share me experiences and knowledge anytime.

Compubuff,
I know earlier on you were considering signing on with mobileweb4u, I'm assuming that you have signed on...how do you like it so far? Do you think it's worth it?

Also to anyone else that can help...I understand there's a page on mobileweb4u that gives a few pictures of how the web 2.0 will look like on your phone....but I couldn't get the pictures to show. From what I saw, the set up looked a lot like the free WAP I was using before VZW shut it down, and I believe the free WAP was 1.1 or something earlier than 2.0...am I wrong, or what is the difference? Just want to clarify I couple things before I subscribe to their service. Thanks!

No, I haven't signed up for mobileweb4u yet. Right now I am trying to get NowWap free wap server software to work! lol! I am not doing too well tho! I haven't even found out how to change the ip address in the phone. I found where the ip address is... but can't figure out how to change it! argh! I did throw the $24.95/year and $3/month subscription fee by him. So far he didn't say yes or no...

"what is NowWap? Is it better?"

lol! NowWap is confusing! argh! It is software that lets you run a free wap server thru your computer. There is a free trial for 30 days... after that I have no idea of the price.

One page that you can see pictures on is ESPN. You have to scroll to keep scrolling down past all the sports categories, but there is one there. I haven't found any others so far, but I don't use it that often. Post if you do find some more though.

Try the weather links. There is one (don't remember which one) that shows sattelite and radar pictures.
