You should all be aware that when you see a new phone appear on Phone Scoop, that realistically it is 4 to 6 months before you will see it being sold, at least by VZW anyway. Generally we get our trial units shortly (a few weeks to a few months) after they appear here. The trial units are just that, units that we use to test everything and if any problem arises, hardware or software, the phones will see a set back, and if the set backs are too numerous or complex it may be quit a while before the phone see's the light of day. Simple as that.

How do the other carriers get their more modern phones out way before we even see our almost a year old phone in our hands?
Thankyou!!! I've been asking that same question since foever.
I do find it funny that the equivelent phones on other carriers are far superior to Verizons phones... There defidentally is not a 'Get it Now' for Verizon... Old technology that works about as well as Microsoft... Unstable...
Why do we stay with Verizon???? Because we have the potential to make calls thruout the USA...
Although I have noticed their network becoming more and more unreliable and unstable over the last year... Could be the phones, but I think Verizon is slipping...
Has anyone else noticed an increase in dropped calls... Echo.... Extremely long connection times???? Calls clicking in and out???...

Unlike Sprint, Verizon waits until the next versions of the Qualcomm chipsets come out. That way the chipset on the phones becomes the "previous" version therefore lowering their value...
Verizon then orders the phones from the manufacturers at lower prices, puts out the phone as their "new product", selling for as high a price as they possibly and making an even greater profit.
Just look at the a610 for example. The a600 for Sprint had been out for over 6 months before Verizon got to release their verison.
It's called business folks and thats how the bastards down in Bedminster keep Verizon @ #1.
It's good for Verizon and your regular Joe Schmoe who knows jack $h...
