GUYS, THIS IS THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE!! I SWEAR TO YOU!!
Its June 1st, 2004. How do I know? I was told by a friend that was a Verizon Employee. He saw it in a Powerpoint presentation file. The cost will also be $229.99 with a 2 year activation.

Not to be too cynical, but wouldn't it be better if you pleaded with us to believe you that this is what your friend told you, vs. "trust me, its the real date"?

Hey all I'm saying is to believe what I'm saying. Its from my friend so if you're believing him you're believing me. Again, there are so many rumors on this site and a lot of misinformation. Things need to be put in order with all these false assumptions for the release. June 1st it is however.

As of Howard forums also, it seems to be a correct date. I'm glad you gotta good source BMWGUY hope you keep posting, but that really sucks...this fone is never gonna come out. Theres always a chance that it will change, earlier I hope. It just doesn't seem logical though. If VZW was holding the release of all new phones because Motorola doesn't even have 1 camera fone out, than once the v810 is finally released theres gonna big a lot of fones past there release date. 9900, 7000, a670 etc...This should be interesting to see how VZW does this juggling act.

Once the demos hit the stores, 90% of the time the phone is released within 3 weeks....So the 6/1/04 release date seems kind of late. But then again, it is VZW...anything goes.

VZW's Spring pricing is launching in May & they will need a new phone coming out to catch people's attention. The Moto 810 is to come out @ the end of Apr./May 1st. So it is possble that VZW will wait til June to launch this phone being that they will need to sale the 810 first & they are relaunching their PTT network. I think BMWGuy's sorce might be closest to the truth.

As for the guy that asked to make sure it was the 9900, yes he is sure that is the date. I wish the date weren't true because I have been waiting for this phone for a LONG time. But with all the rumors going around, June 1st does seem to be the real date.

Ya know, if and when this thing comes out, I am going to watch for a month to see the initial reviews and to see if all the stuff this phone claims to sport along with VZN actually works. I am glad to use the Audiovox CDM-9500 until then. Another dilemma is who else has a phone out there that will accept video streaming, picture ID, ect. ? Oh yes, we haven't heard from the TURTLE lately where is that amphibious reptile 😉

Yeah thats kinda what I was gonna state. You don't have to make me believe you because I already don't believe your source, or even my source for that matter. Tooooo many things change with VZW especially dates. So maybe your source did see a presentation or whatever, it can all be changed. Even when I ask some people I know they tell me "it should be", and "it's supposed to be" because they too know everything is subject to change.
If your source is right than that could be a great thing for you and all of us on phonescoop to get a little early info, if not no biggy we all know how VZW operates.
