Audiovox CDM-9900
my reply from vox
The number I tried for Verizon did not work. Can you post other replies here? I'm willing to wait a month or so for this phone; but not months though there's no other phone I'm eager to have.
Unfortunately the CMD 9000 is still in the approval phase. We are waiting for Verizon to approve this model phone. You can call them at 800 466 4646 to see if they have an updates on the 9900.
Best regards......blah blah
You are VZW and have not had new phones in a long time and you are behind the competition. You can a) launch all of them at the same time to one big bang or b) launch a new one every few weeks.
If you go with "a" you have nothing 30 or 60 or 90 days from now to continue to drum up excitement (sales).
If you go with "b" you launch a decent, first video phone from Samsung. Then another from LG. Then another from AudioVox. Then an upgraded phone from Moto (710). Then the LG's flagship the 8000. In this scenario a lot of people are going to buy the 670 or 7000 and then upgrade at least once over the next few months. If they all come out at once, everyone will buy the phone they want and...

Errrrr....weong......
The A670 did come out last week, but it can only record 12-second videos. It cannot send it
to any other phones or E-Mail addresses.
The VX7000 is the first TRUE video phone that can send 15-second videos with sound to other
video phones and E-Mail addresses.

If you re-up for a new two year contract with the first phone - they have made more money off of you. If you buy another phone at retail price a few months later (because they have a new phone with BT that you just CAN'T live without), they have made even more money off you. Notice at this point they don't have to give discounts etc. In other words, they make money BOTH times you sell the phone. The first time over the next two years with your service and the second time when you bought the phone.
Please go take an economics course before you try to respond.

They lose money when they sell phones at huge discounts, without extending service, and by attaching rebates. They make money when they sell them at full retail.
