Keep V710 or return it and wait for the 9900?

I just found this thread on the 9900 and am still evaluating the V710. I basically like the phone, except for two issues which are pretty grave for me....1) external display will not stay on and you cannot see time or missed messages w/o hitting a button or opening the phone 2) earpiece design makes it difficult to hear w/o constantly adjusting the phone by your ear. After much research, I have decided to keep the v710. I looked at the CDM-9900 and the LG VX-8000 and there are problems with the design of all the phones (as they meet my specific needs). I found that any phone that has an external LCD screen is going to power down to save battery. The new 8000 is going to do that and I'm assume that this phone will do that as well. I vote to have options that let us decide how we want it to behave, knowing the power consequences.

It was the ability to have a BT headset (ordered and on the way), transflash and good ringer design that helped settle my decision. I'm sure the 9900 will be a great phone, but I don't think it will meet my needs any better than the 710 and have less functionality.
