Audiovox CDM-9900

I just subscribed to mobileweb4u and tried setting up my phone. I emailed mobileweb4u but see that tech support is closed until monday and I want to try the service asap. My problem is when I press 7 and the * once or twice in my settings menu, nothing happens. I cannot ever get to the FSC code page.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

My phone was giving off alerts so I checked it and I had a VM...never hear it ring...checked call log no missed call or recieved call...but had a VM...any answers???

Has anyone tried to get free internet through Waptunnel? Waptunnel is a free gateway.

I've had the 9900 for c. 2 weeks and I think it's a terrific phone. It replaced my 9500, a GREAT phone (as far as reception goes). I would give the 9500 a 10 for reception and the 9900 about a 9.5. Any comments?

I've just ordered one of these phones (probably paid too much, but decided to get one while I still could), and I've still got a few questions.

Has anyone set up their own WAP site and tried it with the VZW CDM9900? I'm a sysadmin who would like to use this phone to interact with a mobile-web-based app. Simply put, I'd like to be able to go directly to a custom site on the internet and bypass using a web proxy. Is that possible and has anyone done it?

It seems simple enough - set up a WAP site, then point the phone to it as www.mobileweb4u.com/cdm9900.html describes. Am I missing something? Do I have to subscr...

I would like to add tasks to the My Menu that do not seem to be on the list of tasks on the assign list - ie. Voice Notes and Countdown Alarm. Is there any way to add tasks to the list of shortcuts?

I just picked up a 9900 that I had ordered for my wife at the Verizon store in Chapel Hill, NC. Call 919-933-9926 and ask for Todd. You have to order them since they are out of stock. He is a good guy who knows his stuff and is very helpful.

Besides sites like ebay, does any know where I can get an Audiovox 9900? I was excited to see that Letstalk.com originally had phones available, but alas, they have sold out.

I read on a previous posting that this model was not actually discontinued, but in actuality, Verizon has put the model on "hold". Can anyone support this? If this has been permanently discontinued, is there a true replacement for this model???

I have had the 9900 for about nine days - I want to like this phone but I am having a few problems. When the speakerphone is set to high volume so that you can hear it there is a distortion of the sound and it overmodulates.
Also the voice dialing rarely recognizes the names that have been stored. I have to repeat the name six times before it sometimes accepts it. My old LG510 - a very basic phone never had a problem recognizing my voice and dailed on the first try.
Are other having this problem? Could it be just this one? I am about to give in and switch to the LG6100 which I really don't want to do! 😢

How would one know where cell towers are???

Hey I'm having trouble sending pictures to my phone via email. I've cropped a bunch of images and resized them to be 240 wide by X pixels long, and saved them as a jpeg file (I've tried both extensions .jpg and .jpeg). When they get to my phone it says "filetype not supported" but it's a jpeg file so I don't know what's going on. I've used irfanview, faststone, and Photosuite 4 for the cropping, resizing, and saving. Anyone have any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me where to find a free or shareware midi editor that will cut a piece out of an existing midi file into a new midi file easily? I have tried psmplayer but it does not work well.

I figured you'd be able to help me out on this one since I can't find the original posts regarding forcing digital in the call preference part of the hidden menu. I tried doing this one time, just to save battery, but everytime it switches from 1x to D it shows the solid triangle at the top (that's roaming right?)...is this normal? or is there a way to combat this. For now, I just put it back to auto.

If anyone else can answer this, I'd really appreciate it as well. Thanks!

PS- of all the options for call preference, is there a better one than all digital or auto?

There is a lot of discussion on other verizon related groups that the 9900 is discontinued. This may or may not be the case - but - if it is will support and "supplies" ie. batteries be available?

Somewhere along the way I stumbled onto a setting that allowed the user to select a two line or three line format for the Scheduler. I'm currently set on two lines. I want to reset to three lines, but can't seem to navigate back to that setting option. Can someone direct me to the setting.

I have wasted the morning trying to send a mp3 ringtone to my phone with no luck. When it comes it dose not have any sound.

Will somone please send it to my phone for me. I can send the mp3 file to you and you can send it to my phone as a .mid. I just can't get it to work for me.

I have followed the directions that have been posted. Conveted it to mono renamed the file to .mid and kept is short (only 8k file) The only thing I can think of is must be somthing to do with using a Macintosh and not a PC.

Please I really want this ringtone!

Has anyone been seeing any new games or places to get tones for this phone from Get it Now? They usually add new ones on Monday or Tuesday night. I haven't been getting any.

I have some midi files downloaded from the Internet - not ringtones but midi music files. They are small file sizes - less than 5kb each. Can I just upload them to the phone through vzwpix as they are or do I have to convert them to ringtones with a midi program such as psplay to use them as ringtones on the phone?
