Speaker Phone - - - Automatic?
I've had my v400 for a few days and so far am very impressed with it.
I really like the speakerphone for safety purposes. But, I noticed that you must first initiate the call, *then* press the Speaker Soft Key. Is there any way to have the speaker working right after the send key is pressed? Secondly, is there any way to answer the phone on Speakerphone?

To simply answer your question... No and No. This is not possible. I even confirmed this with a couple of the "guru's" I know who work at Cingular.

Actually, I see a setting in the phone which suggests the speakerphone can be automatically activated when the phone is answered in "Car Settings" under "Auto Handsfree" - it looks like it can be set to automatically answer and go to speakerphone when in this mode, which, I believe, needs a headset connected to be operational.
That said, I'd like a software flash that lets me go to speakerphone by hitting the smart button. As it stands it's not so smart.

This makes for a non-feature. I can not believe that someone did not figure out how much this is needed. The speaker works good in the car, but defeats the purpose if you have to wait for an answer, then tell the person to hold on while you find the button.

Meh, another weak point of the V400 for sure. The biggest deal for me was the earpiece volume being too low.
Nothing's perfect. Even with its flaws I rather like my V400; I think it's a great little phone and all the stuff it CAN do makes up quite a long list.

The v400 is a pretty good, solid, little phone. The non-automatic speakerphone is probably the only thing I don't like about the phone right now. With all the hacks available out there to get into the system files and pretty much change WHATEVER you want, you can customize the phone to be PERFECT for you!
