U can use MP3 frm pc to tf to fon as a ringtone!
Everyone seems to think that when you transfer a mp3 from your pc, to your TF card, and then move it to your phone that you cannot use it as a ringtone. it was discused how to accomplish this using iTunes to create the mp3 ringtone (25secs). The ext. has to be *.mid or yourmp3.mid for it to work as a ringtone however. All other "songs" can remain as mp3 or *.mp3. Sometimes you do have to set or apply as a ringtone before it to be available in your rintone list. I don't think VZW is aware of this however.

I didn't have to change mine to a .mid, just left it as an .mp3 and works fine as a ring tone. There is a great post on this site that works perfect.

.mp3 works for ringtones when transfered via TF. Once it is on TF, you have to "move" it to the phone's mempry to assign it as a ring tone. You can listen to MP3s direct from the TF but to use as RT, you must move to phone.
.mid is required if you are going to email the file to your phone.

OIC. Thanks for the carification on mid only for e-mailing phone. However, when I move a song over to fon memory, then go to a contact, it doesn't list the ringtone at all.

Not sure what you are doing. Are you going to the contact, click edit and then scrolling down to "ringer ID" and then click "change"? That will show you the list to choose from.

Yes, we have 2 fons and it's the same on both. That's what prev people were complaining about. The only way I found to make it work is to goto media gallery and select the mp3 file, then menu, apply as ring tone. However, this changes all the ringtones (loud, soft, vibe/ring) to that ring tone. I then can select is as a ringer id and have to set back my previous settings back b4 I did the apply as ring tone feature.

Erm, excuse my retardedness, but How am I supposed to be going about this again with my Rumor? I apologize for being clueless.
