Motorola V710
is bluetooth actually useful????
i was thinking about getting this phone but then i realized its going to cost $100-$200 more for something that i will rarely use, so can you tell me a phone coming out that has most of the same features of the v710, just without the useless bluetooth??? thanks 😳
plus im a kid, im only 17 not a business man, i dont need that ****
im just wondering what else can i do with the bluetooth feature...i ask because thats going to be the reason why this phone will be $400+ and i want to know if ill actually get a use out of it
I completely understand where you're coming from.
I still plan on purchasing the V710 regardless, but I really have no use for the Bluetooth. I do, however, hope to be one of the first 710 people to I can take advantage of Motorola's Bluetooth promotion and get the free headset.
I am considering getting Bluetooth installed in my car, however I have not been able to find anyone who has had this done - and it isn't cheap. I drive a Hyundai Elantra, not an Acura TL or a Lexus so I don't have Bluetooth already installed.
I really have no use in a PDA especially since I use my phone for email and that's the only thing I would have to do on the run.
However, I do feel comfortable with this phone having Bluetooth. I do...

ill still get the phone however because it can record video and all the other cool features it has
My PC lets me know if I have an incoming call, voice message, email or SMS via pop-up alerts. (This is useful if you left your phone in another room or something).
I can connect to the Internet (through my T610 and T-mobile) and send email or SMS from my PC/Mac or Palm Tungsten PDA.
I can sync my address book from my PC/Mac and Tungsten with my phone.
I can control my PC/Mac mouse with my Bluetooth phone.
I can select and play MP3’s on my PC/Mac from my phone.
I can exchange Pictures and files between my PC, Mac, Tungsten T3 and other BT phones.
Many more uses at www.myT610.net
The only thing that has me interested in the V710 from Verizon is the c...

Personally, I'll use the BT to turn the 710 into a wireless modem for my iPaq. I already have a BT GPS receiver that I use daily, and makes my life alot easier.
At your age, I can see why you wouldn't see the value in something like that - I definitely seek different technology now, than I did in 1992, when I was 17. Now I can't even see the usefulness of the camera feature, but love the benefits of getting rid of all the wires.
I wish someone would make a phone with BT, a great speakerphone...

I am hopeful, but not expectant, that the V710 will implement Bluetooth in a highly functional manner. You're right about it being "unimplemented" in some respects - I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that some mfr's simply don't bother to provide as many profiles as others. Case in point appears to be the V710 vs. the Nokia 6255i (I'm not sure about that number). The Nokia is expected to have file transfer protocols in place (among...

Where one would go to find such adapters. I have an Infiniti, and it did not have the same option as the new Acura TL. So, retro-fitting it would be a nice option
Thanks
Here's one made by Motorola, the Car Kit with Bluetoothâ„¢ Wireless Technology - model 98500/S9642A

Obviously you'd need to get this professionally installed but then it will work with any 1.1 compliant Bluetooth phones, not like other car kits specific to your phone model.
