i just read it over....the whole process is going to take a very long time...a final hearing will be on january 16th, 2006 and they will start refunds after then. It going to take quite some time before anyone sees anything. Kind of disappointing, i was hoping to get my money back and get a new phone within the next month.
...
Yeah me too. I also thought I was going to get my $300 back. Looks like you just get a refund up to the purchase price of a new phones. I guess I'll just wait and see how that works out.

well, im looking to cancel my service and switch to cingular. Its annoying that i have to wait this long...is that still an option as one of the settlements???
...
i also have another question....i've been needing a new battery for some time, but was holding off because of the settlement. I read the settlement and it said that you will be refunded for your purchase of accesories, and batteries were listed as one of them. If i go buy one now, do you think i will be refunded for it?

Actually, I think it will work to our advantage if we don't get the credit until January, since there is a rumor that VZW will have the Motorola RAZR by then. We could use the credit to get one of those, which I am sure will not be cheap. Although, I am not happy that I will have to renew the contract to take advantage of the promotional price.

I'd renew anyway. I live in St Louis and they are the biggest and best around here. Plus I use A LOT of "IN" minutes. And I agree that while its anoying to have to wait for the credit, there should be a few new cool phones out by then that we can take advantage of.

I just read it too. The way the claim form reads, it seems that we'll need to be "currently" a Verizon Wireless customer in order to choose "Option 1, 2 or 3". If I were to cancel my service and move to Cingular, I'm forfeiting any refund I might have expected.
Am I reading this wrong?

Answered my own question - reading this: http://www.verizonwireless.com/pdfs/v170settl ement/VZW_Notice_9-2-05.pdf on page 2, 6.d - I'll get a full refund for price paid.
