v710 and bluetooth
First off I'm a USCC customer and not Verizon. I don't have that mobile phone tools and was told there was a demo available but am unable to find it but oh well.
The problem is that in My Bluetooth Places I do not get the file trasfer option, Motorola says it should work just fine sending ringtones to the phone via bluetooth. Not sure if this was disabled on USCellular phones like Verizon was. Could it be that I need a firmware upgrade? The software version is 8700_01.40.2P

Motorola did not make any V710's for sale with Oobject Exchange (OBEX File transfer). You can go to the black market, or to Wireless Imports and offer to pay thousands $$ and still it is not available. Not from USCC, Alltel, South Korea, Japan. Motorola did not ship any with OBEX and Bluetooth SIG did not Qualify the device for that profile.
You need to switch to another carrier or hope that Verizon changes their policies if you need file transfer via Blueto...

I am not a verizon customer as I stated in the original post. I spoke with Motorola and they said that the phone I have does have the OBEX support and that it should work, they recommended that I use a motorola Bluetooth adapter for my computer and not a third party like I have.
