MP3 on TransFlash
Does anyone have a solution for playing mp3's off of the transflash memory card. I can transfer a few mp3's to the phone and they play fine, but it wont work off the transflash card. After converting the mp3 from 128K to 32K it plays fine from the transflash the audio quality is really bad.

How are you able to transfer MP3s to the phone without using the transflash card.

Also do u really have to "butcher" the MP3 so that it will be able to play better or make more room on the phone, and if so how do u go about doing that.
Geez this is so confusing lol

I transfered the mp3 to transflash card using the SD to transflash adapter. You have to place the mp3 in the Motorola\Shared\Music folder. Once the MP3 is transfered you can place the transflash card into the phone and go to media gallery then sounds. You can switch storage devices from phone to tri-mmc. Then you can see the mp3, but I have found that you have to move or copy the file to the phone for it to play. Is everyone experiencing the as well?

As a workaround to getting mp3 to play off the Transflash card, I found that if I copied the mp3 to the phone and then back to the transflash card it starts working fine. Not sure why. Its kinda a pain to transfer each song to the phone and back, but I guess I will have to do this until I can figure this out. Any ideas out there? 🙄

Format the card in the phone.
Take it out and drag and drop your files from your pc into the main motorola directory.
viola.
let the phone format the card firstbefore using it. it should work like a charm

Thanks, that makes sense. I will try that as soon as my phone finishes charging.

Formatted, etc. and copied 4MB MP3 to every location I saw listed in this forum. Also copied a ring tone to the auido directory, and the phone sees that, but not the MP3! Any ideas?

I didn't have any problems playing 192K MP3's directly off of the card. I did not put them into any directory, I simply put them on the root of the card and they played fine while on the card.
