If one of your biggest concerns is good coverage, then there should not even be a real comparison between sprint and verizon. It is always a smart thing to pick a company and coverage first, then look at that company's phones. Check out a sprint national map, then look at a verizon map. There is no real comparison when it comes to coverage. Don't know where you live but around here your sprint phone stops working two miles off the highway☹️ You can buy the coolest phone ever known by man, but if your coverage and service sucks it doesn't do you much good. I live in Phoenix, AZ and most all of the people I know that have Sprint have good coverage, I really didnt think that coverage between Sprint and Verizon much differed.

Where do you live? and any comments on the phones I noted?

Sprint's digital coverage area is like 1/4 of verizon's. I checked Arizona and phoenix is covered well by both companies. But you will notice a difference between them if you ever leave that area for sure. If you do travel that is something to seriously consider. The biggest thing though is the customer service. It is next to impossible to ever get a person to help you on sprint. I had sprint about a 1 1/2 years ago in ohio, the coverage sucked and customer service sucked as well. Maybe they are much better in your market? those phones are both extremely nice, i think you would be happy with either one of them. I have been extremely happy with my past 5 lg's, i have had the 510,4400,4500,6000,and i am currently using the 7000. So back to pic...

the lg8000 is not available yet at Verizon.

I do travel primarily on the Western US but do go around the US probably 4-7 times a year....mostly in major metro areas. so the West is what I would be concerned about in major metro areas

for sprint. i recommend sanyo phones, yes they lack in style and looks. but they're fully packed! my bro has the most expensive sanyo sprint has to offer and it's so tight. it has every feature a modern cell phone can do nowadays plus more.

Umm, no one seems to have mentioned that this is one of the first EV-DO phones to be released, 1 mbps bandwidh on a cell phone??? Come on, that's gotta be the barnone best feature of this phone.

so basically its the bandwidth this phone brings with it vs a cool feature set with the camera or video?

That A700 that Samsung brought out looks slick....I just wish the damn thing had a speakerphone

Actually EV-DO is around 300 to 500 Kbps with actual results closer to the 300 mark.

If you don't really care that much about the service and coverage, the samsung a700 does look like a cool phone. Samsung usually makes good equipment, I would probably stay away from audiovox though. Stick with lg, sanyo, and samsung. Waiting to see how the 710 turns out(hopefully not another 720 nightmare)
