If you need analog in your area then by all means get a trimode phone. A lot of people live in areas where they get only digital so analog would be useless to them. I will agree, no matter how nice a phone is, if it doesn't pick up in your area, then it's useless. So, for anyone reading this, make sure you know what kind of service is available in the areas you go in before deciding.

I got onto Verizon just recently using a borrowed LG TM-510 and it gives me three modes: Home, Automatic A, and Automatic B, but I don't have the option of forcing Analog mode. Oh, well, it still whoops the pants off of my former carrier, whose three letter name will remain unsopken, lest I have to puke.
I sure wish the VX-8000 were tri-mode!
