I would recommend the 8000. LG has a very small turn-around rate meaning that the people who buy one tend to buy another. This has to do with build quality, menu layout (much simpler than 9900) etc.

I have used

Audiovox
9500
9155
and am just starting to use the 9900

LG
TM510
vx10
vx4400
vx4500
vx6000
and have dabbled in the vx7000.

In every phone (excluding the 9900 and 7000) the LG's have been better phones. It is going to be tuff to get a wide opinion on the 8000 since IT HASN'T BEEN RELEASED YET!!! 😈 😈
I can tell you that the 9900 is a better phone than the 7000, but you could have probably figured that out yourself. Tri-mode, speaker phone, better pictures, easier screen to read, and easier buttons to hit. You just have to turn off that annoying key beep that the audiovox has. The only real edge the 9900 has over the 7000 is that it has a speaker phone. They pictures and video are the same. I think the menu on the 7000 is more user friendly. I also like it, because the 7000 is better for using pix messaging to add high quality mp3 clips. I do like both phones though.

As for the 9900 vs. the 8000, there is really no competition. The phones are not in the same league. The 8000 is a higher end phone with much more advanced features. The one edge that the 9900 has is again the trimode feature, which is only neces...

I got my 9900 3 months back and I simply love the phone.. it has good screen quality, a loud speaker and it's picture qaulity is not bad... and it's battery life is unbeilevable.. it's a good phone.. well I can't say much about the 8000 as I have not seen it as yet.. just on the internet... 🙂
