...
NICE!!! my contract is up Jan. 31
😁 😁 😁 😁
...
lol it's not official!! it just means it'll be out here by the 1st. it could be before. haha i dont know hwy im complaining. im one of the 500 that already has a lovely 8000. i guess this means no more heated accusations..oh darn 😉
...
and it will be 270 dollars retail 200 with a 2 year contract....this is from verizon..🙂
...
Finally the phone I have been waiting over a year for is comming.
...
Did you hear that LG already has it's replacement: The VX-8100. It doesn't look anything like the VX-8000. I personally like the looks of the VX-8000 more, though. Verizon sure takes a long time to release phones. I think the FCC approved the 8000 way back in February of last year.
...
No matter what you buy, they are always working on the next better version.
So this is no news to me.

This sure is a lot cheaper than Sprint's Multimedia phones, like the Sanyo MM-7400, which is $380 for current subscribers and $230 for new subscribers.
...
Where did you get your pricing information from? Also , how do you know that your source is valid?
...
Thanks for the link that is helpful information for all of us on this forum.
thanks
...
yeah i dont think there are to many questions left..i cant wait to get this phone!

yes it sure is!!! I just got the newsletter myself. I work for Verizon. I have been waiting for this phone forever! The pricing as quoted above was correct. $199 after $70.00 mail in rebate. Cheaper than I thought it would actually be. Also on the accessories we get at the store have LGVX8000 on the boxes. So I knew it had to be close.
...
Hey, just wanted to know if it was going to have an extended life battery for the phone. Cause for me that is a given, I would just like to know if it is available.
Thanks
Yogi

Usually the extended batteries come out about a month after the phone is released.
...
question.. if you have a ne2 contract, and you have a 100 dollar credit. can you use the 70 mail in rebate and the 100 dollar credit togeather? thanks 😁
...
I don't see why not, but I'd head on over to the Verizon forum and ask there... a lot of Verizon CS reps hang out there and would know for certain.
...
Yes you do get both which is great for me and you too, we get this phone for $99.00 man am I so excited.
Thanks
Jerold
...
ok if i am a reccomended 2 year contract customer exactly how much can i get the vx 8000 for? and when is it released??
...
269.00 Then the 70.00 rebate, then your 100.00 for your new every two program. If you don't have a contract you will have to pay 389.99 or 399.99.
...
so in the U.S. .. I can get the vx 8000 for 100 dollars after both rebates??
...
If AND ONLY IF YOU ARE up for your two year renewal and after all rebates.
...
this should cover most, if not all, bases...
new customer:
269.99 out of pocket
- 70.00 mail in rebate
-------
199.99 net cost
existing customer (eligible to upgrade):
same as new customer
existing customer (w/ new every 2 credit):
269.99 out of pocket
- 100.00 newe2 credit
- 70.00 mail in rebate
-------
99.99 net cost
- existing customers not eligible to upgrade will pay full retail (~$400).
- you can not buy the phone from verizon without a contract (even at full retail price).
- if you meet the following requirements you can probably get an early upgrade:
1) at least 12 months since last upgrade
2) you pay 49.99 a month on average
3) you are on or are willing to move up to
a 49.99 or hi...

i assume you are referring to the last section regarding early upgrades... those criteria are only an issue when you are trying to upgrade before 22 months in a 2 year contract. verizon subsidises the cost of phones every 22 months (or every 12 months on a 1 year contract). if you want to get sale price before then they make you jump through hoops.
...
I know that this has been asked a million times, but is FEB. 1 set in stone? One LG article said sometime in Jan 2005. The info section on this page sayd Feb 2005. That could mean Feb. 28th.
According to Sailorman, this phone has been out since Nov. 14th. Does anyone have any concrete evidence that Feb. 1 is for real?
Thank You.
Chris
...
That FEB. 1st is the release date, the phone has been out to 500 special people in different markets.
...
where on the Verizon Wireless Website? I don't see the phone anywhere.
...
- if you meet the following requirements you can probably get an early upgrade:
1) at least 12 months since last upgrade
Customer Service says I can't upgrade for 2 years since I have a 2 year contract. I have to wait until 2006!!!
2 Years is a long time when you are a phone crazy person like me.
...
i should have said "if you meet ALL the following requirements"
...
What do you mean by that?
...
what i meant was...
- IF YOU MEET *ALL* 6 OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS you can probably get an early upgrade, if you meet all the requirements and they won't give you an upgrade go to another store and ask someone else:
1) at least 12 months since last upgrade
2) you pay 49.99 a month on average
3) you are on or are willing to move up to
a 49.99 or higher price plan (note: you
may not stay on a grandfathered plan)
4) must sign new 2 year contract
5) must be current on bill (no more than
30 days balance due)
6) you 'need' new equipment (i.e. you may
have to whine and or lie about your
current phone problems)
...
One thing that you mis-stated about is the price plan. You must either already be on and agree to up for two years or take out a $39.99 dollar plan or higher. The cheapest plan VZW has is 34.99. But in order to be eligable for everything you said it is 39.99 or higher, not 49.
...
to get an EARLY upgrade, i.e. to get sale pricing before 22 months on a 2 year contract, you need to be on or agree to migrate to a 49.99 or higher plan. this is not something you will read in any verizon literature. it is something a rep can choose to honor if they believe you should recieve a new phone.
...
I went just 2 months ago through this and was told by a rep that it had to be upgraded to at least a $39.99 or higher price plan.
This also applies to certain extras such as free mobile to mobile amongst vzw customers. Example: if you were to have a 39.99 dollar plan and your friend was to have a 34.99 plan...than your minutes would be included in m2m, but the friend with the 34.99 plan would not.
Im not trying to start anything Im just passing on what was stated to me by a rep 2 months ago.
...
problem is we're talking about two different things. i'm talking about an early upgrade and that rep either wasn't or was making up his own rules.
