OK. Here's the deal. I'm in the market for a new cell phone from Verizon. I qualify for the New Every 2 program and I can get a new cell phone as of March 31, 2005. I currently have a Motorola T730 and had a Samsung SCH-a530 both with Verizon. I have been doing research on some phones and have narrowed my selection down to 3 phones. I am now contemplating on the Samsung SCH-a890, the LG VX7000, and the LG VX8000. I don't know what the best is. The only reason I am looking at the VX7000 is in case the a890 and VX8000 aren't good. The first question is where do you live? The reason I ask is to find out if you are in the EV-DO area. I have seen and played with both and it would be a tough call for me. I would definitely not get the 7000 because it will phase out when the 8000 is up and running. If you like the menu of the 7000 then go with the 8000. The Samsung is wicked in that the menu is 3-D graphics. The Samsung is a little smaller but very stylish. The 8000 is larger but you get the 2.2 in screen to enjoy VCast which is the new service rolling Feb 1 which allows you to watch video clips on the phone. Saw it and it takes phones to a new level. 3-5 min clips of news, sports etc. Just like watching TV but need to be in an EV-DO market which takes me full circle.

Supposed to roll when Verizon rolls VCast which is starting Feb 1. Along with the 8940.
