Hi,
Does anyone know if there will be some type of plan with Verizon for using the streaming video service, or will it be pay as you go?

It will be $15 a month through the Get it Now Apps. You get access to all the video clips as well as the Mobile Web and it doesn't use your minutes. Music videos will be extra when the roll out due to royalties issues.

It will be a seperate charge over and above your minute usage plan. Some reports have said it will be $15, but others have said it will be $49 for unlimited usage. The $49 seems right since that is what Verizon is charging for their slow speed service.

EVDO is going to be very limited and initially in only about 20 major cities. Service is fairly limited too, some games, CNN and PBS (Sesimie Street) and a few others. It will not be the whole show, just short clips of a few minutes. Not a very big deal for the average person and a very expensive serv...

You are correct, the multimedia is $15. But that does not give you the high speed interent though, just the same slow Wap 2 browsing.

High speed interent will be an extra charge, just like it is now. Unlimited EVDO including multimedia and high speed internet has been rumored to be $49 in addition to your normal monthly minute plan. 😢

You are partly correct. The Multimedia will be $15 but if you are in a EV-DO market, the Wap 2.0 moves faster as well. The additional fee that you refer to is if someone wants to hook it up to their laptop to use as a modem. It is a required data rate plan in addition to the normal minute plan charge. It is actually 44.95 to be exact.

However, if you want access to the net using the new network that will be a different fee. But the video clips and EVDO will be usable on the phones for only 15 a month.
