wait...so the EV-DO is going to a network with new plans and everything? does this mean more expensive than the regular plans? I am dying for this phone...but if i have to pay any more than 30-40 bucks a month just for minutes i wont be able to get it...crap

Yes, a newer faster network with new INTERNET plans. It has nothing to do with the plan you have now. Since this phone has 1xEVDO it simply means it can be used a a modem with your computer to surf the web at "like DSL" speeds", but in order to do tat, you'll need to sign up for one of their plans, BUT, this doesn't change the price of the monthly minute plan you have now. Know what I mean?

I'm quite sure that 1xEV-DO is just for using it as a modem on your computer. It also alows video streaming, faster wap 2.0 and other cool stuff. Lets hope it comes out this year

let's say it does come out in 2005..wouldnt they price the 8000 way higher than the 7000?(..almost to the range of the expensive cells vzw offers like the pda and smartphones..)
