Great News! Just spoke with a representative from VZW support, and she gave me a concrete release date: September 15. She knew exactly what she was doing, so I'm sure she's correct. But, they don't have any information on price yet. I feel so special I found this information! Enjoy.

What # did you call to find this information out? Was it the standard customer service dept? The Lg 7000 Just came out, I am sure it will be a while before it comes out. Phone testing has to go through several test trials. Keep in mind Verizon & LG will probably not release the 8000 until they have gotten all they can from the 7000 model.

yeah that's exactly what i was thinking. theyd make a lot more money if they brought out the 8000 way later than september 15th..they havent even begun to make commercials for the vx7000 yet.

On July 12th, I contacted Verizon via email to ask if the Treo would be offered and they gave me the availability date of July 19th. Sure enough, on July 19th, it was available on their web site (not in stores). I since concluded I want the VX8000 or Treo 610.

A few weeks ago, I asked the availability of the VX8000. I got a canned response that "we do not provide information on future phones and that there are all these wonderful phones already available."

I conclude the previously reported September 15th release of the VX8000 is right on.

Note: my inquires were via email and not by calling. Your mileage may vary.

I was in contact with a verizon rep and told that the 710 is scheduled for next week (8/11) and the 8000 is mid september. I'm going to wait for the LG. I just hope it is priced lower!
