NEW INFO ON VX8000

Great News! Just spoke with a representative from VZW support, and she gave me a concrete release date: September 15. She knew exactly what she was doing, so I'm sure she's correct. But, they don't have any information on price yet. I feel so special I found this information! Enjoy.

launch of EV-Do

The front page news of phonescoop says Verizon wireless lanched the EVDO in Vegas and that it is already out in DC and some other place. If this is so what phones do they have in these areas to use it with?

Driving mode?

I am so far not impressed with the reviews of the v710.

I am interested in a cell phone that has a speakerphone, the other features are interesting, but I need a TELEPHONE!

Does the 8000 have the "driving mode" feature of the 4500? On that phone, if you leave the speakerphone on, the phone announces an incoming call, and you can answer via speakerphone without opening or touching the phone. I like this feature! Of course, bluetooth does it, but after you purchase the other headset for god knows how much $!

I will wait for the 8000 if it has this feature. does anyone know? can I find out?
THANKS!!

With the price of the new V710 the price of the 8000 will be crazy

I imagine that since the V710 is xtrememly price that the 8000 will be just as expensive if not more. Looks like that even after the 8000 comes out I will be waiting a while for the price to drop ☚ī¸

Check out these pics from the vx8000

personally I found these pics to be very impressive. Enough to make me seriously consider waiting for the release of the 8000. I wonder how the quality of the 710 pics will stack up to the CDD of the 8000

REMOVABLE MEMORY?

Does anyone know if the 8000 will have something similar to the v710's t-flash mem? The only reason I, personally, can see keeping the v710 when the 8000 comes out is the easy transfer of pics. All other features seem to be equal or nearly equal except LG has a long history of producting better working equpitment.

I definetly plan on getting the v710 basically for bluetooth and the camera/mem-card combination. I will however switch to the vx8k if it will have removable mem. I DO have a digicam, but is only 2.1mp, so the camera's quality is good enough for me. Plus my camera is the HUGE c-700 by olympus and the v710/vx8k would be a much lighter solution for my needs..

LG VX8000 & 1xEVDO

Cnet.com:

Camera phone: LG 8000
We knew phones with integrated megapixel cameras were going to be big news this year, and just about every handset manufacturer had an announcement to that effect. Featuring a 1.3-megapixel CCD camera with a 10X zoom, a built-in flash, and a video-recording function, the LG 8000 clearly stands out from the rest. In addition to its impressive list of photo features, it also sports internal and external 262,000-color displays and works with 3G 1xEvDO (DSL speeds) networks. Pricing with service will be determined when the unit becomes available late this summer.

Service: Verizon's BroadbandAccess 1xEVDO network
At the show this year, we were able to take Verizon's high-speed 1xEVDO network for a test-driv...
